Maģistra darba mērķis ir izpētīt Jēkabpils pašvaldības darbību laika posmā no 1919. gada līdz 1940. gadam, kā piemērus izmantojot pilsētas pašvaldības darbības galvenos virzienus. Domes darbības galvenie virzieni bija sociālajā un saimnieciskajā jomā. Pēc Pirmā pasaules kara pilsētas pārvaldē dominēja latvieši un pilsētā esošās minoritātes. Kā galvenais darbības pamatprincips bija sociālās labklājības nodrošināšana pilsētas iedzīvotājiem. Netika aizmirsts arī par saimniecības attīstīšanu pilsētas robežās, kas sekmētu pilsētas budžetā esošo līdzekļu pavairošanu, tādējādi sekmējot pilsētas attīstību. Kritiskās domāšanas veidošanās vēstures mācīšanas procesā pamatskolā

Diplomdarbs ir veltīts kritiskās domāšanas veicināšanas procesam vēstures mācību stundās. Darba aktualitāti nosaka Latvijas izglītības reformas „Skola 2030” pamatnostādnes, kur kritiskā domāšana ir atzīta par vienu no caurviju prasmēm. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt kritiskās domāšanas veicināšanas iespējas vēstures stundās pamatskolā. Diplomdarbu veido divas nodaļas. Pirmā nodaļa ir veltīta teorētiskajam pētījumam, kur analizētas atziņas un pētījumu rezultāti par kritiskās domāšanas jēdzienu un tā interpretēšanu, nozīmīgākajām komponentēm un novērtēšanas kritērijiem. Pētījums “Nepiedzīvotā pagātne: sociālās atmiņas konstruēšana vēstures mācību stundās par padomju laiku Latvijā” pievēršas tam, kā tiek veidota sociālā atmiņa 12. klasēm pasniegtajās vēstures mācību stundās par padomju laiku Latvijā. Pētījuma rezultāti atklāj, ka, lai arī valsts ir noteikusi noteiktus vēstures priekšmeta standartus, skolotājas vēsturi māca dažādi un arī attiecīgi veido atšķirīgu sociālo atmiņu pētījumā iesaistītajām skolēnu grupām. Effect of temperature on anaerobic treatment of black water in UASB-septic tank systems

The effect of northern European seasonal temperature changes and low temperature on the performance of upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB)-septic tanks treating black water was studied. Three UASB-septic tanks were monitored with different operational parameters and at different temperatures. The results indicated the feasibility of the UASB-septic tank for (pre)treatment of black water at low temperatures with respect to removal of suspended solids and dissolved organic material. Inoculum sludge had little effect on COD(ss) removal, though in the start-up phase some poorly adapted inoculum disintegrated and washed out, thus requiring consideration when designing the process. Levels and Potential Health Hazards of Chlorinated Pesticidesin Surface Water Samples of Charsadda Area of Pakistan Using SPME-GC-ECD Technique

In the present study, we determined the levels of chlorinated pesticide residues in surface water samples collected from the Charsadda district (KPK, Pakistan). SPME-GC-ECD with COMBI PAL CTC autosampler was used for extraction and analysis of 20 organochlorine pesticides in the collected water samples. For maximum efficiency of the SPME procedure, several parameters were studied, including the extraction and desorption time of the fiber, solution pH, agitation of samples, and stirring speed, etc. This method showed good liner response, with R2 values in the range of 0.9887 to 0.9999 for all pesticides. The present paper concerns a special application of some recently proposed structural devices, called LRPD, able to protect the welded sections of frame steel structures from undesired brittle collapse ensuring the good expected ductile behaviour. Standard I-shaped cross-sections are treated, and the proposed devices are suitably considered as moment resisting connections between beams and columns. Ważnym elementem w obecnych badaniach historycznych jest analiza relacji dyplomatycznych dotyczących dawnej Rzeczypospolitej w tym Wielkiego Księstwa Litewskiego. Ukazują one dzieje państwa oraz jego politykę wewnętrzną i zagraniczna z innej perspektywy historycznej. W 1700 r. wybuchła Wielka Wojna Północna, która zmieniła układ sił politycznych w Europie Środkowo Wschodniej na kolejne dziesięciolecia. Univariate and multivariate properties of wind velocity time series

We analyze the time series of hourly average wind speeds measured at 29 different stations located in Sicily, a region with a complex morphology. The investigation, performed from the univariate as well as the multivariate point of view, evidences that the statistical properties of wind at the single sites have features that are not reproduced by standard models and, thus, require specific modeling. Moreover, the synchronous evolution of wind velocity presents a cluster structure, obtained with different algorithms, that persists in the standard deviation too.
