Plasma membrane microdomains in plants: for which physiological roles?

International audience; A large body of evidence supports the existence, in membrane from animal and yeast cells, of functional microdomains playing important roles in protein sorting, signal transduction, or infection by pathogens (1). We demonstrated the presence, in plants, of detergent resistant fractions isolated from plasma membrane, with a lipidic composition similar to animal microdomains (2). Electrophoresis experiments indicated that these fractions were able to recruit a specific set of plasma membrane proteins and exclude others. Identity Processes in Adulthood: Diverging Domains

Patterns of identity formation were analyzed in a longitudinal framework, from ages 27 to 36 and then to 42 years of age. Information from all 3 ages was available for 197 participants (100 women, 97 men). A variation of Marcia’s (1966) Identity Status Interview included 5 domains: religious beliefs, political identity, occupational career, intimate relationships, and lifestyle. Great variability in identity status assessments was found across the domains at each age level. Polarisation dependent Raman study of single-crystal nickel oxide

Abstract The magnetic domain structure and Raman scattering have been studied in NiO single-crystals with three different (100), (110) and (111) orientations. Twin-domain structure was observed in NiO(100) and NiO(110) single-crystals using cross-polarized optical microscopy. We found that the ratio of the two-magnon (at 1500 cm−1) to the two-phonon (2LO, at 1100 cm−1) Raman bands intensity is sensitive in a particular way to the type of the twin-domain pattern.

Human 70 kDa heat shock protein (hHsp70) is an ATP-dependent chaperone and is currently an important target for developing new drugs in cancer therapy. Mesenchymal stromal cells (hMSCs) display a pleiotropic function in bone regeneration. The signaling involved in osteoblast commitment is still not completely understood, and that determines the failure of current therapies being used. In our recent studies, we identified two miRNAs as regulators of hMSCs osteoblast differentiation driving hypoxia signaling and cytoskeletal reorganization.
