Parental Trust in Teachers and Children’s Interest in Reading and Math: A Longitudinal Study

This study investigated cross-lagged associations between parental trust in a child’s teacher and children’s academic interest across Grades 1–4 in primary school. Parents rated trust in their child’s teacher, and 576 children reported their interest in reading and math at each grade. The results showed that high parental trust in a child’s teacher predicted the child’s high interest in math. In addition, the child’s high interest in reading in Grade 2 was related to the father’s subsequent trust in the teacher. peerReviewed

Innledning Innføring av telemedisinske tjenester har vist seg å være komplekse, fordi det i en telemedisinsk innovasjon utvikles nye tjenester, prosesser og organisasjonsformer. Det er forsket mye på slike innføringer på sykehus, men vi vet lite om hvordan dette foregår i norske kommuner. Derfor har vår problemstilling vært: Hvordan foregår innføring av telemedisinske tjenester i norske kommuner? Materiale og metode For å besvare problemstillingen har vi brukte en kvalitativ metode med fire fokusgruppeintervju med 24 informanter fra 21 kommuner i tre helseregioner. Gill area explains deviations from body size–metabolic rate relationship in teleost fishes

Whether gill area constrains fish metabolism through oxygen limitation is a debated topic. Here, the authors provide insights into this question by analysing mass-specific metabolic rates across 44 teleost fishes extracted from FishBase. They explore whether species deviations from metabolic rates predicted by body mass can be explained by species gill area. They show that the gill area explains c. 26%–28% of species-level deviations from mass-specific metabolic rates. Their findings suggest that gill area might indeed be one of the factors limiting metabolic rate in fishes.

Nell’indagine è stata caratterizzata l’idrorepellenza del suolo di una pineta artificiale Mediterranea utilizzando sia il tradizionale Water Drop Penetration Time (WDPT) test che due indici desunti da esperimenti di infiltrazione condotti con il MiniDisk Infiltrometer (MDI). The aim of this empirical multi-case study is to understand the GDPR investments and impacts of the organisations. Among these, the measuring experiences related to GDPR and information security (Isec), and the future expectations are examined. Several interesting findings were recognised, which also enabled further suggestions. Changes in food habits amongst Norwegian adolescents in 2016 and 2019 according to gender and socioeconomic status

Background: Monitoring dietary habits is important in order to identify risk groups and as a basis for targeted public health initiatives. Objective: To study trends in consumption of selected foods and beverages from 2016 to 2019 amongst Norwegian adolescents according to gender and parental education. Design: Repeated cross-sectional study amongst 25,996 adolescents, aged 14–17 years old. Consumption of selected food and beverages was measured by an online food frequency questionnaire and general linear models were applied to estimate changes in dietary habits.
