Fluorometric determination of diphenhydramine by flow-injection analysis

1992

A sensitive, rapid and simple flow injection procedure for the determination of diphenhydramine has been designed based on a fluorometric approach. An aqueous solution of diphenhydramine is injected into a carrierreagent stream containing Ce(IV) in dilute sulphuric acid and the fluorescence intensity of the Ce(III) produced is monitored. Chemical, FIA and instrumental variables were optimized. Analytical features of the method are: linear range 0.2–2 ppm, precision 0.7%, sample throughput 80/h. The influence of some foreign substances which can be found in typical pharmaceutical samples containing diphenhydramine was also investigated. The diphenhydramine content of a pharmaceutical prepara…

D’Annunzio e il teatro fuori dal teatro

2017

At the origin of the two stage shows there is the idea of commemoration: September 11, the anniversary of the march on Ronchi, for La Figlia di Iorio to Vittoriale in 1927 and the homage to the Vate who has disappeared for a few months to represent La Nave in Venice in 1938; two different ways of celebrating and ritualising the event/theatre out of the theatre. And while in the first case, in a celebratory context he himself cared for, d’Annunzio became an enthusiastic promoter of a significant updating of the theatrical practice, in 1938 the regime finalised the event to an exaggeration of the duce’s politics in the lagoon marking a substa…

Tommaso Salvini 1860: Fortinbras come Garibaldi al Teatro dei Fiorentini di Napoli

2021

Garibaldi landed in Marsala on 11 May 1860. In July of the same year, the Thousand were still fighting in Sicily with the aim of reaching Calabria, where they would have arrived on 1 August, and from there marched to Naples. And on the very evening of 14 July, on the stage of Florentines theatre in Naples, the leading actor Tommaso Salvini (1829-1915) presented a mutilated Hamlet, deprived above all of the most introspective and sentimental scenes, whose interpretation is still preserved in his prompt-book of Hamlet. The declamatory symbols marked by Salvini are still readable in the prompt-book of his 1860 interpretation that is now housed at the Museo Biblioteca dell’Attore, in Genoa. Und…

“Speaking in Terror: Femininity, Monstrosity and ‘Race’ in Early Modern Culture”

2002

The chapter examines how the intersecting vectors of gender and race contribute to the configuration of monstrosity in early modern drama and anatomy, and how this construction is simultaneously powerful and haunted by the fear of the 'other'.

L'arte mantica alla prova dello scetticismo nell'Edipo re

2022

Since the beginning of the Sophoclean drama OT, King Oedipus, in his attempt to contrast the plague that afflicts Thebes, has to confront the traditional influence of the Delphic oracles and the opinion of the local seer, Tiresias, who is demanding to interpret the words of the God Apollo. In this sense, the Sophoclean drama seems to set into the Attic scene the main traits of its contemporary public debate (second half of the 5th Century BC) about power and fallibility of both oracles and their human interpreters, the so-called manteis. This paper aims by means of a detailed analysis of the dramatic discourse to investigate the positions expressed by the different characters involved in th…

Huomioita aikamme traagisuudesta

2018

Overionization in X-ray spectra: a new paradigm for Mixed-Morphology SNRs

2011

Mixed-morphology SNRs are characterized by a shell-like radio emission, a centrally peaked X-ray morphology, and by interaction with molecular clouds. Many models have been proposed to explain these peculiar remnants, but their physical origin is still unclear. The recent discovery of over-ionized (i. e. recombining) ejecta in 3 mixed-morphology SNRs has dramatically challenged all the previous models and opened up new, unexpected scenarios. I review the main properties of these remnants and their peculiar X-ray spectral properties. I also discuss the hydrodynamic model developed to explain the presence of over-ionized ejecta in W49B and present a list of open issues that still need to be c…

El Groupe Français d´Éducation Nouvelle y la Guerra Civil española en las revistas Pour l´Ère Nouvelle y L´Éducateur Prolétarien

2017

The Groupe Français d’Éducation Nouvelle (G.F.E.N.) was a fundamental point of reference for the New Education movement in Europe, represented in the interwar period by the International League for New Education. It was a diverse group, both in its composition and its ideological and pedagogical guidance, especially from 1936 with the arrival of Celestin Freinet and his co-workers from the Coopérative d’Enseignement laic. Through its magazine, Pour l’Ère Nouvelle, which was founded by Adolphe Ferrière and published regularly between January 1922 and March 1940, this movement had a significant influence on educational reformers throughout those two decades. The same is true for the magazine …
