Automatic ranging and self-positioning is a very desirable property in wireless acoustic sensor networks, where nodes have at least one microphone and one loudspeaker. However, due to environmental noise, interference, and multipath effects, audio-based ranging is a challenging task. Upper-Miocene tuff-breccia pipes from the Hyblean area (south-eastern Sicily) bear a number of ultramafic and mafic xenoliths (spinel-peridotites, pyroxenites, gabbroic rocks) whose study has led to conclude that the Meso-Caenozoic carbonatic and volcanic succession stands upon a fossil oceanic core-complex, probably connected with the adjacent Ionian crust. Evidence for hydrothermal metasomatism is common in the Hyblean ultramafic and mafic xenoliths. An integrated approach physicochemistry and structures activity relationships has been carried out to study the aroma compounds retention-release phenomenon in a fat free dairy gel added with pectin. This study aimed to identify the molecular properties that govern this phenomenon assuming that modifying the structure leads automatically to a change in the retention-release of aroma compounds. The aim of this study is the analysis of structure and transfer mechanisms through chitosan based food packaging materials with incorporated carvacrol as a model of antimicrobial active substance. Integration of composition parameters, structure, processing and drying of chitosan systems is correlated to its physico chemical and functional properties. Understanding and detailed analyses of processing parameters is crucial in production of active chitosan coatings applied on conventional materials such as polyethylene. Streptococcus pneumoniae sortāzes A inhibitoru atlase multirezistentu patogēnu izraisīto infekcijas slimību terapijai

Darba mērķis ir atrast jaunas novatoriskas vielas, kas inhibē Grampozitīvās baktērijas Streptococcus pneumoniae transpeptidāzi sortāzi A. Šo inhibitoru atlasei tika izmantota rekombinanta S.pneumoniae sortāzes A katalītisko domēnu kodējoša konstrukcija bez N terminālā reģiona. Šāda rekombinanta transpeptidāze tika ekspresēta E.coli ekspresijas sistēmā un sintezētais proteīns izrādījās šķīstošs. Pēc attīrīšanas sortāze tika izmantota inhibitoru atlasei, izmantojot skrīningu, kas balstās uz fluorescences rezonanses enerģijas pārnesi (FRET). Pavisam tika pārbaudīti 966 potenciāli inhibitori savienojumi, no kuriem tālākām pārbaudēm tika atlasīti trīs labākie, kuri inhibēja IC50 testā izmantotās…
