Variability of isozyme pattern, chromosome number, and latex colour and components in the closely related Papaver duhium L. and P. lecoqii Lamotte in…
1995
Summary The variability of nine different isozyme systems, chromosome number, colour of fresh and dried latex and presence or absence of meconic acid was investigated in altogether 45 populations of Papaver dubium and P. lecoqii mainly from C Europe. It was found that P. dubium is hexaploid with 2n = 42 chromosomes, has brown dried latex, and contains meconic acid. P. lecoqii is tetraploid with 2n = 28 chromosomes, has red dried latex, and lacks meconic acid. The two taxa can also be distinguished by differences in three of the nine isozymes analysed, and are almost completely monomorphic for their respective isozyme pattern. It is concluded that the two taxa, which cannot be reliably disti…
Integrable systems, Frobenius manifolds and cohomological field theories
2022
In this dissertation, we study the underlying geometry of integrable systems, in particular tausymmetric bi-Hamiltonian hierarchies of evolutionary PDEs and differential-difference equations.First, we explore the close connection between the realms of integrable systems and algebraic geometry by giving a new proof of the Witten conjecture, which constructs the string taufunction of the Korteweg-de Vries hierarchy via intersection theory of the moduli spaces of stable curves with marked points. This novel proof is based on the geometry of double ramification cycles, tautological classes whose behavior under pullbacks of the forgetful and gluing maps facilitate the computation of intersection…
La configuración del derecho de asilo en la Unión Europea a la luz renovadora del derecho a no sufrir tortura o tratos inhumanos y degradantes
2018
The Chapter analyzes the EU Court of Justice case law on Aliens' Protection Regimes in light of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and of the European Convention of Human Rights focusing on: a) the impact of non refoulement and protection from risk of torture and inhuman or degrading treatments principles; b) procedural safeguards of right to seek "asylum" on the implementation of EU "Dublin regulation". Both aspects are taken into exam in the perspective of identifying common EU standards of protection of fundamental rights of the persons in the process of judicial implementation of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights lead by the European Union Court of Justice (expecially after the ent…
Taxonomic and synonymic world catalogue of the Charipinae and notes about this subfamily (Hymenoptera: Cynipoidea: Figitidae)
2012
The Charipinae (Cynipoidea: Figitidae) are a small group of Hymenoptera biologically characterized as being secondary parasitoids of aphids and psyllids (Hemiptera) (Menke & Evenhuis, 1991). A total of 281 species of Charipinae have been described since the first species was described by Westwood (1833) (including two fossils, one of them recently transferred in a new family, Protimaspidae). An updated world catalogue of the Charipinae is presented here, with 168 valid species: 111 included in Alloxysta Förster, 31 in Phaenoglyphis Förster, 13 in Dilyta Förster, 5 in Apocharips Fergusson, 4 in Thoreauana Girault, and 1 in Dilapothor Paretas-Martínez & Pujade-Villar, Lobopterocharip…

Dubbing dialogues… naturally: a pragmatic approach to the translation of transition markers in dubbing
2012
Although research in Audiovisual Translation is said to have come of age in the past decade, there are still several key issues that have not received the scholarly attention they deserve. In the case of dubbing, the study of the naturalness of dubbed dialogue is a case in point. The aim of the present article is to analyse the use of transition markers in dubbing in order to look precisely at the naturalness of dubbed dialogue while taking into account the dubbing constraints at play. This analysis is carried out by comparing the dubbed dialogue (English-Spanish) of a popular American sitcom to the non-translated but prefabricated dialogue of a Spanish sitcom and finally to spontaneous con…
Antonio Di Grado, Divergenze. Borgese, Malaparte, Morselli, Sciascia.
2014

The book containing this project, presents the outcomes of the 1st International Workshop “Dubai Pop-Up: Architecture in a Transient City” organized in March 2017 at d3-Dubai Design District by Al Ghurair University in collaboration with other international academic partners. Local students of architecture worked together with students coming from an international background, in order to foster a shared design vision through a collective cultural growth and reciprocal awareness. The participants had the opportunity to visit both recent accomplished buildings and projects under construction, confronting themselves with the local context in a dynamic and stimulating environment. The workshop …
Dubai, da città in transizione a città resiliente?
2020
L'articolo presenta il lavoro, Dubai Pop-Up. The article presents the work "Dubai Pop…
Dubai: a city as a capriccio
2019
Dubai is a fascinating young city projected to the future. Its skyline offers nowadays a wide panorama of architectural works, from hi-scale landscape interventions to small size projects, designed by some of the most renowned world-famous architects. Those projects aim at a radical change of the urban landscape, attempting to reconnect a built environment today fragmented by the bursting expansion of recent times. The Essay talk about the proper perception of a peculiar “collage city” like Dubai, in an analogous but inverted manner in the rapport between reality and representation, generate an idea of city that puts the visitor in a condition of surreal estrangement, where any kind of juxt…
