Assessment of Muscular Fitness as a Predictor of Flight Duty Limitation.
2018
Introduction The high acceleration (Gz) exposure among military pilots flying fighter aircraft has been associated with an increased risk for cervical and lumbar disorders. It has been suggested that an adequate level of physical performance could reduce the risk of experiencing these disorders. The Finnish Air Force has for several years used aerobic (bicycle ergometer) and muscular fitness tests (battery of five tests) in the selection process of military pilot candidates in order to evaluate their physical fitness level. The aim of the study was to determine if these selection phase tests and anthropometry measures can predispose those individuals who might be at risk of developing sever…
The internally layered foot in Dutch
2017
AbstractRecent metrical studies have proposed that, under certain circumstances, a weak syllable may be adjoined to a binary foot, giving rise to a minimally recursive foot. Adding to a growing body of research from metrical stress and foot-conditioned phenomena in various languages, the goals of this paper are twofold. First, we aim at providing empirical evidence for internally layered feet based on the distribution of three foot-conditioned processes of Dutch: vowel reduction, glottal stop /ʔ/ insertion and /h/ licensing/deletion. Second, we explore a less studied theoretical and descriptive advantage of internally layered feet: their potential to predict phonological strength distinctio…
Neutralidad y honorabilidad del árbitro: : De la ética a la diligencia
2021
One of the main principles of arbitration is that the arbitral tribunal must be independent, impartial, neutral and diligent in carrying out its duties throughout the arbitration proceedings. However, the sophistication and complexity of arbitration as an extra-judicial dispute resolution procedure can undermine confidence in the efficiency of the system. In this regard, the professional (arbitral) ethics and the honourability of the arbitrator are of major importance. This article aims to highlight the importance of the neutrality of the arbitrator, the integrity of the arbitration and the reputation of this procedure
Children’s freedom in the family: childrens’ duties and parents’ right of correction. Situation in Spanish Law
2016
In this paper we study the regulation of children’s duties and the parents’ right of correction after the last legislative reforms, to determinate if continues existing this ius corrigendi despite the formal elimination from the Spanish civil code, though not of other statutory legislations.

Non-destructive automatic determination of aspect ratio and cross-sectional properties of fibres
2015
A novel method for computerised estimation of the aspect ratio distribution and various cross-sectional geometrical properties of fibres in short-fibre reinforced composites is proposed. The method, based on X-ray micro-computed tomography, is non-destructive and does not require user intervention. Based on results on specially fabricated model material, the accuracy and precision of the method seems adequate. The method is applied in analysing a manufacturing process of wood fibre reinforced thermoplastic composite. The results indicate a significant decrease of the aspect ratio of fibres during the processing steps. Finally, the feasibility of the method is assessed by estimating paramete…
Motor Vehicles Not Used in Road Traffic Are Also Subject to Compulsory Insurance in Europe - CJEU Clarification in Case C-80/17
2019
The article analyses a recent significant case in the Court of Justice of the European Union on the extent of compulsory insurance in the field of motor insurance. The judgment delivered by the Grand Chamber of the CJEU on 04 September 2018 clarifies the obligation to conclude a motor insurance contract in a situation when a motor vehicle is no longer intended to be used in road traffic. If previously there was no doubt that motor vehicles that are used in road traffic are subject to compulsory insurance, it was unclear whether compulsory insurance in the field of motor insurance also extends to vehicles which are no longer intended to be used in road traffic. The Court formulated the ‘thre…
