<title>Statistical bandwidth allocation for multiservice networks</title>
2002
Multiservice networks will carry di erent kinds of applications in the near future. Bandwidth requirements change rapidly, and the network resource management will play an important role to guarantee the use of the limited resources in the most eAEcient way. We approach the channel capacity allocation problem by developing an SLA (Service Level Agreement) based channel allocation method. In our model, the channel may be wired or wireless, so this method can be adapted in multi-technique networks. The algorithm allocates resources to several di erent service classes via several di erent capacity routes. Service provider perfroms optimization by allocating data rate in such a way that the sat…
Channel capacity of fading channels for differentially encoded transmission
1999
The capacity of flat fading channels when applying differential encoding with noncoherent reception and no channel state information available at the receiver is considered. Numerical results indicate the gains achievable by multiple symbol detection in the case of slowly time-varying channels and provide a comparison between schemes with different potential bandwidth efficiencies.
Iron(II) complexes of naphthalenes. X-ray structure of [cyclopentadienyl-iron(II)-η6-octamethylnaphthalene]PF6
1992
Abstract Complex ions [cyclopentadienyl-Fe(methylnaphthalene)]+ with 4 to 8 methyl substituents have been prepared from [CpFe(o-dichlorobenzene)]+ by a photochemical ligand exchange. Complexation shifts have been determined for 1H and 13C resonances of the η6-bonded naphthalenes. The X-ray structure of [CpFe(octamethylnaphthalene)]PF6 0.5 acetone has been determined. Crystals are monoclinic, the space group C2/c with unit-cell dimensions a = 10.689(4), b = 22.391(5), c = 20.550(4)A, β = 93.41(2)°, Z = 8. The structure determination established a distorted molecular geometry of the octamethylnaphthalene that is different from the free arene and its Cr(CO)3 complex.
Eine neue experimentelle Methode zur Behandlung von Beckenwandrezidiven gynäkologischer Malignome
1989
Pelvic side wall recurrences of gynecological malignancies subsequent to primary or adjuvant radiation therapy have a bad prognosis, although in almost half of the cases, distant metastases are not present at the time of diagnosis of the local tumor progression. A radical operative resection of the pelvic wall recurrence is rarely possible and a second conventional percutaneous or intracavitary irradiation with a tumoricidal dose is no longer feasible, because of the limited radiation tolerance of the surrounding pelvic tissue. The different forms of chemotherapy applied at present are not curative. Based on considerations of tumor and radiation biology, we propose a new experimental treatm…
Così vicina così lontana, New Graphic Design in Cina
2009
Optimized Multipactor-Resistant Wedge-Shaped Waveguide Bandpass Filters
2013
[EN] Wedge-shaped waveguides present a certain advantage with respect to rectangular waveguides regarding their resistance to multipactor discharges. In this paper, the optimal configuration for the wedge geometry is investigated based on theoretical results, on a precise multipactor prediction tool, and on previous experience. In addition, design rules are presented, which allow us to achieve for wedge-shaped filters electrical performances comparable to the ones of rectangular waveguide filters, while at the same time improving the multipactor-free power range. As a proof of concept, two three-pole bandpass filters with equivalent electrical characteristic of 150-MHz bandwidth, centered a…
Experimental and theoretical characterization of the strong effects on DNA stability caused by half-sandwich Ru(II) and Ir(III) bearing thiabendazole…
2020
Abstract: The synthesis and characterization of two half-sandwich complexes of Ru(II) and Ir(III) with thiabendazole as ancillary ligand and their DNA binding ability were investigated using experimental and computational methods. 1H NMR and acid–base studies have shown that aquo-complexes are the reactive species. Kinetic studies show that both complexes bind covalently to DNA through the metal site and non covalently through the ancillary ligand. Thermal stability studies, viscosity, circular dichroism measurements and quantum chemical calculations have shown that the covalent binding causes breaking of the H-bonding between base pairs, bringing about DNA denaturation and compaction. Addi…
Performance evaluation of three dynamic channel access strategies for spectrum leasing in CRNs
2015
Spectrum leasing in cognitive radio networks (CRNs) allows the primary network (PN) to lease a certain fraction of its licensed bandwidth to the secondary network (SN). The motivation for such a concept is to enhance the performance of SNs while improving channel utilization. Meanwhile, the license owners of the channels can also gain benefits through spectrum leasing in terms of either monetary rewards or cooperative communications. In this paper, we propose three dynamic channel access strategies for spectrum leasing in multi-channel CRNs. A common characteristic of all these strategies is that the priority for channel access over the leased spectrum is given to SNs and the unleased spect…
Prospective Comparison of Loop Excision under Colposcopic Guidance versus Vitom Guidance.
2012
Background: Aim of the study was to compare the quality of loop excision using a colposcope with results using the VITOM system. Results compared included cervical volume removed, intra- and postoperative complications, and positive resection margins. Methods: A total of 200 patients with histologically confirmed high-grade cervical premalignant lesions, persistent atypical cytological results and/or suspicious colposcopic findings, and cytological and histological discrepancies were included in the study. In transformation zone type 1 (T1) only a superficial cone biopsy was done, in zones type 2 and 3 (T2 and T3) a superficial outside cone biopsy or a deeper inside cone biopsy were done re…
Multilevel Bandwidth and Radio Labelings of Graphs
2008
This paper introduces a generalization of the graph bandwidth parameter: for a graph G and an integer k ≤ diam(G), the k-level bandwidth Bk(G)of G is defined by Bk(G) = minγ max{|γ(x)-γ(y)|-d(x, y)+1 : x, y ∈ V (G), d(x, y) ≤ k}, the minimum being taken among all proper numberings γ of the vertices of G. We present general bounds on Bk(G) along with more specific results for k = 2 and the exact value for k = diam(G). We also exhibit relations between the k-level bandwidth and radio k-labelings of graphs from which we derive a upper bound for the radio number of an arbitrary graph.
