Straightforward access to water-soluble unsymmetrical sulfoxanthene dyes: application to the preparation of far-red fluorescent dyes with large stoke…

2014

An efficient synthesis of water-soluble unsymmetrical sulforhodamine/sulforhodol fluorophores containing a single julolidine fragment is presented. Owing to their valuable spectral properties in aqueous buffers, these dyes, especially those bearing a free aniline or phenol moiety, are valuable components of fluorogenic probes for a variety of biosensing applications. A further extension of this synthetic methodology to unusual phenols, namely 7-N,N-dialkylamino-4-hydroxy coumarins has enabled us to provide a new family water-soluble dyes of large Stokes’ shift with far-red spectral features.

Evolutionary-based 3D reconstruction using an uncalibrated stereovision system: application of building a panoramic object view

2010

In this paper, we propose an original evolutionary-based method for 3D panoramic reconstruction from an uncalibrated stereovision system (USS). The USS is composed of five cameras located on an arc of a circle around the object to be analyzed. The main originality of this work concerns the process of the calculation of the 3D information. Actually, with our method, 3D coordinates are directly obtained without any prior estimation of the fundamental matrix. The method operates in two steps. Firstly, points of interest are detected in pairs of images acquired by two consecutive cameras of the USS are matched. And secondly, using evolutionary algorithms, we jointly compute the transformed matr…

A Symplectic Kovacic's Algorithm in Dimension 4

2018

Let $L$ be a $4$th order differential operator with coefficients in $\mathbb{K}(z)$, with $\mathbb{K}$ a computable algebraically closed field. The operator $L$ is called symplectic when up to rational gauge transformation, the fundamental matrix of solutions $X$ satisfies $X^t J X=J$ where $J$ is the standard symplectic matrix. It is called projectively symplectic when it is projectively equivalent to a symplectic operator. We design an algorithm to test if $L$ is projectively symplectic. Furthermore, based on Kovacic's algorithm, we design an algorithm that computes Liouvillian solutions of projectively symplectic operators of order $4$. Moreover, using Klein's Theorem, algebraic solution…

Les impacts du campagnol terrestre sur les systèmes fourragers : le cas de l’élevage bovin allaitant en Bourgogne

2014

EAAgroSupECOLDUR; Do vole outbreaks have the same effects on suckler beef farms in Burgundy as they do on daily farms in Auvergne and Franche-Comte? Semi-structured interviews were carried out with 19 farmers from Burgundy who had been affected by a water vole outbreak in 2011. The results indicate that, just like farmers in Auvergne and Franche-Comte, farmers in Burgundy witnessed a decrease in forage quantity and quality. Farmers used diverse measures to deal with the outbreak (e.g., avoidance strategies or the use of bromadiolone). Farmers that described water voles as pests were more likely to have used bromadiolone, while those who described water voles in morphological terms or in ter…

Reduced herbicide use does not increase crop yield loss if it is compensated by alternative preventive and curative measures

2018

Herbicide use must be reduced because of environmental and health issues. This raises the question of whether weeds and the resulting crop yield loss will increase. Previous studies analysing relationships between herbicide use intensity, weeds and yield loss suffer from methodological shortcomings in terms of weed flora and farm diversity as well as temporal scales. Here, we collected data on 272 arable cropping systems from one Spanish and six French regions, from farm surveys, the Biovigilance-Flore network, expert opinion, cropping system trials, crop advisors and scientists. Each system was simulated over 27 years and with 10 weather repetitions, using the virtual-field model FlorSys. …

Are the xyloglucans new elicitors of plant immunity ?

2017

Damaged-Associated Molecular Patterns (DAMPs) are endogenous molecules released from the plant cell wall after wounding by pathogens. DAMPs are recognized by Pattern- Recognition Receptors (PRRs) that play a key role in plant immunity by mediating defense responses. The plant cell wall-derived oligogalacturonides (OG) are well characterized DAMPs that elicit plant immune responses such as MAPK activation, [Ca2+]cyt variations, H2O2 production, defense-related gene expression and enhanced resistance against Botrytis cinerea. Our study focused on a new polysaccharide component of the plant cell wall called xyloglucans (Xh) and compared the immune events triggered by OG and Xh in Arabidopsis t…
