This work deals with corpus-assisted research into speaker ideological positioning in the language of diplomacy. It concentrates on the resources used by the foreign minister Margaret Beckett to construe the speaker “orientation” (Lemke 1992) through the analysis of the main participant in the discourse that is international community and the subject matter being debated namely terrorism. The findings have shown assertiveness and determination from the speaker by the use of contractive mechanisms. Positioning strategies of cultural institutions : a renewal of the offer in the face of shifting consumer habits

One conclusion is widely shared by the practitioners in the cultural sector: consumer relations with cultural products and services have changed. This paper provides a trend marketing analysis of various areas (theatres and performing arts organizations, museums, cultural events, cultural industries, etc.) so as to better understand this “new” cultural consumer. Seven contemporary trends are examined. Each is defined and then illustrated by innovative offers from cultural organizations. Their appraisal by more than a hundred cultural-sector practitioners in France is presented.

The aim of this paper is to illustrate the development of a theoretical and experimental study on the characterization of medium voltage (MV) cables in the frequency range 25-200 kHz. Two transmission line configurations, line-ground and line-line, were considered in order to evaluate the main parameters, such as the characteristic impedance and the attenuation constant alpha. A simplified model of the line-ground configuration is proposed which allows one to evaluate the characteristic impedance and the attenuation constant by means of geometrical dimensions. Volatile compounds produced by adults of Anchomenus dorsalis under undisturbed and disturbed conditions were investigated with an all-glass aeration apparatus. GC-MS analysis of the crude extracts from undisturbed and disturbed adults highlighted four major volatile compounds, undecane, heneicosane, Z-9 tricosene and tricosane, of which significantly more undecane was released by disturbed adults compared to undisturbed beetles. El estudio se basa en una encuesta realizada específicamente para esta investigación en la que fueron entrevistadas 210 personas que asistían a una representación teatral en tres salas distintas de la ciudad de Valencia. El estudio ha revelado la importancia del boca a boca en la decisión de asistir al teatro y su mayor influencia entre el público menos asiduo a las representaciones teatrales.
