SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION BY THERMOGRAVIMETRIC ANALYSIS OF A NEW DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM BASED ON HALLOYSITE NANOTUBES
2015
Recent Researches on Halloysite Nanotubes a Smart Nanomaterials for Several Applications
2016
Halloysite clay are aluminosilicate nanomaterials (HNTs) with an unique combination of hollow tubular nanostructure, large aspect ratio, suitable mechanical strength, high perspectives in terms of functionality, biocompatibility ecocompatibility and wide availability. Moreover, their low cost makes them attractive alternative to the better known carbon nanotubes. As a consequence, in the last years, HNTs have garnered particular interest in material science. HNTs possess different inner and outer surface composition; in particular most of the aluminol groups are located in the halloysite inner surface, whereas the external portions are mainly composed of siloxanes providing a surface availa…
Five insights from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019
2020
The Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD) 2019 provides a rules-based synthesis of the available evidence on levels and trends in health outcomes, a diverse set of risk factors, and health system responses. GBD 2019 covered 204 countries and territories, as well as first administrative level disaggregations for 22 countries, from 1990 to 2019. Because GBD is highly standardised and comprehensive, spanning both fatal and non-fatal outcomes, and uses a mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive list of hierarchical disease and injury causes, the study provides a powerful basis for detailed and broad insights on global health trends and emerging challenges. GBD …
Knowledge regarding diabetes among students of the final year of medicine in Poland
2021
Introduction: There is a rising number of people with diabetes worldwide. It was the first non-infectious disease to be acknowledged by the Word Health Organization as an epidemy. This is the first study to assess basic diabetes-related knowledge among students of the final year of medicine in Poland. Materials and methods: Medical students from: Medical University of Silesia (Schools of Medicine in Katowice(34%) and Medicine with the Division of Dentistry in Zabrze(32%)), Medical University of Warsaw(12%) and Medical University of Lodz(22%) completed an anonymous questionnaire (519 responses (63.8% women); response rate 68.7%). The survey covered five questions concerning the respondent an…
Leadership Effectiveness in Healthcare Settings: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Cross-Sectional and Before-After Studies
2022
To work efficiently in healthcare organizations and optimize resources, team members should agree with their leader’s decisions critically. However, nowadays, little evidence is available in the literature. This systematic review and meta-analysis has assessed the effectiveness of leadership interventions in improving healthcare outcomes such as performance and guidelines adherence. Overall, the search strategies retrieved 3,155 records, and 21 of them were included in the meta-analysis. Two databases were used for manuscript research: PubMed and Scopus. On 16th December 2019 the researchers searched for articles published in the English language from 2015 to 2019. Considering the study des…
Fight against cancer in Italy: What patients, caregivers and healthy citizens think about care delivery from National Health System
2022
Objective: This survey aimed to analyse healthy citizens (HC), cancer patients and their caregivers (CP&CG) perception about cancer care among six different Italian regions. Methods: The survey for HC was conducted by a multinational market research institute (IPSOS) through a computer-assisted web interviewing system, using a dataset of people who had consented to be interviewed for previous studies. CP&CG were interviewed by patient advocates using paper questionnaires. Results: HC completed 1831 questionnaires between May and June 2019; CP&CG filled 1779 questionnaires between May and October 2019. 55% of all interviewees felt they were adequately informed about cancer, with …
Social, health care and rehabilitation educators' competence in professional education—Empirical testing of a model
2021
The social and health care educator's role in educating future professionals need to be stronger emphasised and deserves international recognition. The purpose of this study was to develop and test an empirical model of social and health care educators' competence in higher and professional education. The presented research employed a cross-sectional study design. Data were collected using HeSoEduCo-instrument from 28 educational institutions in Finland. The model was empirically tested with confirmatory factor analysis through Structural Equation Modelling that applied the Full Imputation Maximum Likelihood estimator. A total of 422 social and health care educators participated in the stud…
Social and health care educators' perceptions of competence in digital pedagogy: A qualitative descriptive study
2020
Abstract Background Digitalisation has made digital competence a necessity for those working in social and healthcare. A high degree of competence in digital pedagogy is required of educators to meet the challenge of educating future professionals who are themselves highly digitally competent. Objectives The aim of this study was to describe the perceptions of competence in digital pedagogy that educators in social and healthcare have. Design A qualitative descriptive study. Participants The participants were Finnish-speaking social and healthcare educators (n = 37) working at six Finnish universities of applied sciences (UAS). Methods Group interviews (n = 12) were conducted during spring …
The effects of home delivery on access to food products: the case of supermarkets and cybermarkets in the metropolitan area of Dijon (France)
2013
International audience; Home delivery is a service proposed by supermarkets either via online shopping or after shopping in the store and consists in transporting the goods purchased to the customer's home. It is currently difficult to estimate the turnover generated by such services but it is supposedly very low. One reason is that, nationwide, online shopping in cybermarkets is not a widespread practice. Turnover for the AuchanDirect cybermarket, for example, is reported to be just 45% of that of any single one of the company's hypermarkets. varies across geographical space. Whereas the urban population of city centres has a diversified supply within walking distance, periurban and rural …
