New Strategy for the Stereoselective Synthesis of Fluorinated β-Amino Acids

Racemic and chiral nonracemic alpha-substituted and alpha-unsubstituted beta-fluoroalkyl beta-amino acid derivatives 6 and 9 have been synthesized in two steps starting from fluorinated imidoyl chlorides 1 and ester enolates. This approach is based on the chemical reduction of previously obtained gamma-fluorinated beta-enamino esters 4 by using ZnI(2)/NaBH(4) in a nonchelated aprotic medium (dry CH(2)Cl(2)) as the reducing agent. A metal-chelated six-membered model has been suggested to explain the stereochemical outcome of the reduction reaction. A computer program suitable for analysis of choice of categories in biomedical data recognition problems.

The optimum choice of categories in problems of medical data recognition is governed by the choice of categories, the selection of appropriate features, and by the choice of a loss function. Under these circumstances it is often difficult to find out the suitable classification scheme. The computer program described here serves for the design of the optimum recognition procedure. The Bayes rule is used as decision rule. A criterion for the comparison of different choice of categories is given. The program can be performed after estimation of the underlying prior probabilities and the conditional densities obtained from a training set, and before testing the decision rule with real data.

The paper shows a comparative analysis of the performances of two typologies of solar assisted cooling systems for building applications. In particular, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology is applied to assess the energy and environmental impacts of solar-assisted, heat-driven chillers and conventional compression chillers driven by grid-connected and stand-alone photovoltaic configurations. Justification of Construction Parameters of the Screen in the Small-Sized Household Biomass Chopper

The mechanism of influence of screen design parameters on the technological process and the particle size distribution of the chopped biomass were determined in this research. The presented engineering solutions make it possible to design the screen for chopping the given biomass material. The modernized construction expands the scope of application of small-sized chopper, especially when used in private farm households. Size control of the chopped material allows to use material as fuel, material for mulching of berry plantations and gardens, material for production of constructional and insulating wood concrete.

Abstract A new method—negative pressure cavitation extraction (NPCE) was proposed and investigated for the extraction of the main isoflavonoids, namely genistein and genistin from pigeon pea roots. Abstract An enzyme incubation–water extraction (EI–WE) method was developed and optimised for the extraction of the natural antioxidant taxifolin and of the total flavonoids from wood sawdust of Larix gmelini ( Rupr. ) Rupr. A factorial design and a central composite design approach were used for method optimisation. Optimal conditions were 0.5 mg/ml cellulase and 0.5 mg/ml pectinase, a pH of 5.0, a temperature of 32 °C and 18 h incubation time. The flavonoids and taxifolin were extracted in hot water at 50 °C for 30 min, with a solid to liquid ratio of 1:20.
