In recent decades, the use of psychosocial and psychiatric care systems has increased worldwide. A recent article proposed the concept of psychiatrization as an explanatory framework, describing multiple processes responsible for the spread of psychiatric concepts and forms of treatment. This article aims to explore the potentials of the Open Dialogue (OD) approach for engaging in less psychiatrizing forms of psychosocial support. The emergence of ‘new managerialism’ in academic institutions and professions has given rise to tensions between one’s professional self and work context. Such tensions often originate from a misalignment between institutional and personal values. This study builds on a dialogical approach to identity and discusses the role of inner tensions and conflicts in terms of making sense of one’s professional identity. Dialogicality in teaching process drama : three narratives, three frameworks

This case study explores dialogicality in teaching process drama through the narratives and practices of three experienced drama teachers of the Open University. Dialogue is understood here in the context of ‘I-Thou’ attitude and as the phenomenon of heteroglossia. The analyses of the videotaped reflective interviews with the teachers and process dramas revealed a polyphonic picture of dialogicality in the teaching process, in which juxtapositions of communion and alterity are favoured. In this conceptual paper, we explore online collaborative interaction from the perspective of dialogicality. We aim to reconceptualize the notion of “productive interaction” and the typical focus of its research by turning attention to the dialogic features of collaborative interaction, especially the notions of alterity, dialogic attitude, and dialogic orientation. Argumentation in the Context of High School Mathematics : Examining Dialogic Aspects of Argumentation

In this chapter, I examine argumentation from the perspective of dialogic argumentation that highlights students’ engagement with each other’s ideas in the process of making mathematical claims and providing evidence to support them. I analyzed the provided data for students’ dialogic and justifying moves and investigated how the teacher supported argumentation. I found that the students’ dialogic moves included elaborating and commenting on peers’ ideas. Students’ justifying moves included one case of articulating reasoning and several instances of describing support. We enhance the understanding of informal formative assessment and dialogicity by considering their relationship.
