Aminoalkylbis(phenolate) [O,N,O] donor ligands for uranyl(VI) ion coordination: Syntheses, structures, and extraction studies
2007
Abstract The syntheses of five new aminoalkylbis(phenolate) ligands (as hydrochlorides) and their uranyl complexes are described. The reaction between uranyl nitrate hexahydrate and phenolic ligand [(N,N-bis(2-hydroxy-5-tert-butyl-3-methylbenzyl)-1-aminopropane) · HCl], H2L1 · HCl, forms a uranyl complex [UO2(HL1)2] · 2CH3CN (1). The ligand [(N,N-bis(2-hydroxy-5-tert-butyl-3-methylbenzyl)-1-aminobutane) · HCl], H2L2 · HCl, forms a uranyl complex with a formula [UO2(HL2)2] · 2CH3CN (2). The ligand [(N,N-bis(2-hydroxy-5-tert-butyl-3-methyl benzyl)-1-aminohexane) · HCl], H2L3 · HCl, yields a uranyl complex with a formula [UO2(HL3)2] · 2CH3CN (3) and the ligand [(N,N-bis(2-hydroxy-5-tert-butyl-…
Uranyl(VI) complexes with a diaminobisphenol from eugenol and N-(2-aminoethyl)morpholine: Syntheses, structures and extraction studies
2011
Abstract The syntheses and structural studies of an [O,N,O,N′]-type phenolic ligand [(N’,N’-bis(2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-5-(propen-2-yl)benzyl)-N-(2-aminoethyl)morpholine), (H2L) and two new uranyl complexes of this ligand are described. The reaction between uranyl nitrate hexahydrate and H2L in a 1:2 M ratio (M to H2L) results in a uranyl complex of the formula [UO2(HL)(NO3)(H2O)] (1). In the presence of a base (triethylamine), with the same molar ratio, the uranyl complex [UO2(HL)2]·2CH3CN (2) is formed. The molecular structures H2L, 1 and 2 were verified by X-ray crystallography. Both uranyl complexes are zwitterions with a neutral net charge. A comprehensive NMR-structural analyses of all co…
Makrobicyclische Endorezeptoren: Synthese, Kristallstruktur und Einschluß organischer Gastmoleküle
1992
Macrobicyclic Endoreceptors: Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Inclusion of Organic Guests The macrobicyclic ligand 2 is synthesized in a one-step cyclization procedure. According to an X-ray structure analysis three dichloromethane guest molecules are included inside the cavity, whereas water and methanol are found outside the cavity. The rigid endo preorganization of the nitrogen donors allows the complexation of three 2,9-disubstituted 1,10-phenanthrolines inside the cavity.
Der (2-Phenyl-2-trimethylsilyl)ethyl-(PTMSE)-Ester – eine neutral spaltbare Carboxyschutzgruppe/The (2-Phenyl-2-trimethylsiylyl)ethyl (PTMSE) Ester –…
2002
(2-Phenyl-2-trimethylsilyl)ethyl (PTMSE) esters of aminoacids and peptides are stable under the conditions of hydrogenolytic cleavage of benzoxycarbonyl(Z) and benzyl ester groups, base-induced removal of Fmoc groups, palladium(0)-catalyzed removal of allyloxycarbonyl (Aloc) and even acidolytic cleavage of Boc groups. PTMSE esters are also stable under the conditions of peptide condensation reactions. The PTMSE ester is selectively cleaved by treatment with tetrabutylammonium fluoride (TBAF) trihydrate in dichloromethane, i. e. under almost neutral conditions, within a few minutes and, therefore, considered a valuable novel carboxy protecting group.
Further insight into the photostability of the pyrene fluorophore in halogenated solvents.
2012
Pyrene fluorophores of pyrene-functionalized CdSe quantum dots (QD@Py), as well as alkylpyrene and pyrene itself (Py), undergo fast degradation in aerated chloroform under ultraviolet-A (UV-A, 316<λ<400 nm) illumination. Steady-state fluorescence studies of irradiated chloroform solutions of QD@Py show formation of new bands, red-shifted compared to that of the pyrene moiety. Similar behaviour is observed for pyrene and the alkylpyrene system. Column chromatography of the pyrene photolysate in chloroform allowed us to isolate photoproducts arising from pyrene degradation, and to obtain information on the structure of the photoproducts responsible for the emission bands. The most predominant…
Near infrared dyes by combination of squaraine and ferrocene chromophores
2000
Abstract Squaraines represent a class of compounds which attracts a lot of attention in materials science. A synthetic sequence for the preparation of the symmetrical squaraines 12a , b , which contain ferrocene units as electron donors, is described. The compounds exhibit, in dichloromethane or chloroform, two intense absorption bands. One of them is located at 641/650 nm—a normal region for squaraines; however, the other band is strongly shifted to long wavelengths and has its maximum at 921/961 nm. Alkyl sidechains enhance the solubility of 12a , b , which represent a new type of NIR dyes.
Thin Amphiphilic Polymer-Capped Upconversion Nanoparticles: Enhanced Emission and Thermoresponsive Properties
2014
Upconversion nanoparticles (ß-NaYF4:Er3+, Yb3+, UCNPs) were capped with a thin polymer shell by replacing the oleate ligand of hydrophobic UCNPs by multidentate thiolate-grafting of P(MEO2MA-co-SEMA) copolymers. The presence of the 2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethyl side chains of MEO2MA extending out of the nanohybrid made them water-dispersible. The UCNP@P(MEO2MA-co-SEMA) nanohybrids exhibited an enhanced emission by up to a factor of 10, as compared with that of their hydrophobic precursor in dichloromethane and even in water (a factor of 2). Moreover, their thermoresponsiveness was modulated by the pH; this is consistent with the presence of some thiol groups at the nanohybrid periphery. Remarkab…
Synthesis of 1,3,5-Trisubstituted Hydantoins by Regiospecific Domino Condensation/Aza-Michael/O→N Acyl Migration of Carbodiimides with Activated α,β-…
2005
[reaction: see text] Carbodiimides and suitably activated alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acids react effectively to afford a vast array of 1,3,5-trisubstituted hydantoins by means of a regiospecific domino condensation/aza-Michael/N--O acyl migration. The reaction works well in very mild conditions (20 degrees C, dichloromethane) with fumaric acid derivatives bearing an electron-withdrawing group in the beta position. Good results have been obtained also with less activated substrates bearing only one electron-withdrawing group in the beta position, using more polar solvents (acetonitrile, DMF), and in the presence of a base (2,4,6-trimethylpyridine). Reactions with asymmetric carbodiimi…
The geometry of the silver 1,1′-dibenzyl-2,2′-biimidazole complexes
2013
Abstract The argentophilic interactions and interactions of weakly coordinated nitrate and water with silver metal were studied by investigating the reaction of 1,1′-dibenzyl-2,2′-biimidazole (Bn2bim) with silver nitrate. Three new silver complexes [Ag4(Bn2bim)4(NO3)2]·4(CH3CH2OH)·2(NO3)·0.5(H2O) (1), [Ag4(Bn2bim)4(H2O)4]·4(NO3) (2) and [Ag4(Bn2bim)4(NO3)4]·6(CH2Cl2)·2(H2O) (3) were synthesized and characterized. Complexes 1-3 have rare tetranuclear twisted closed cyclic structure with four bridging biimidazoles and variable nitrate/water ratio. The interactions between the nitrate ligand and Ag as well as water ligands and Ag are considered to be weak due to the ease of exchanging them. Th…
Adsorption of chlorinated volatile organic compounds on hydrophobic faujasite: correlation between the thermodynamic and kinetic properties and the p…
1998
This work deals with a thermodynamic and kinetic study of the adsorption of single volatile organic compounds (VOCs) (dichloromethane (DCM), 1,2-dichloroethane (DCA), trichloroethene (TCE) and tetrachloroethene (PCE)) on a dealuminated faujasite Y by simultaneous measurements of the adsorbed amounts, adsorption heats and diffusivities. The type V isotherms and the weak values of derivative enthalpies allowed us to predict that the competitive adsorption of their mixture would be similar to a distillation. This prediction was verified experimentally: the breakthrough curves of VOC mixtures showed that the adsorbate with the higher boiling point displaced the adsorbate with the lower boiling …
