Procesos de autonomia normativa entre perfiles de indipendencia e interdependencia funcional
2010
The author says that to get rules technique and the certainty of the law together is quite a postulate. The certainty of rules is the expression of impartiality and guarantee which should be assured by the "fixity" of the law.Neverthless one can point out the insufficinet reconnaissance of the rules seen as pure written record, that is the "liturgic text" to individuate the real content of the law. The author gives variegated exemplifications about it. Viceversa the rule exists because it is "alive", and in it is its effective vitality. So it exists in the semantics and in the jurisdictional control and in its applicability. After all, the matter of law is a matter of fact. The specific fac…
Examining bedtime procrastination, study engagement, and studyholism in undergraduate students, and their association with insomnia
2023
IntroductionCompulsive overstudying, known as studyholism, is an emerging behavioral addiction. In this study, we examine the prevalence of, and the relationships between, insomnia, study engagement, studyholism, bedtime procrastination among undergraduate students.MethodsThe Studyholism (SI-10), Athens Insomnia (AIS), and bedtime procrastination scales were administered to a convenience sample of 495 university students.ResultsOur findings indicate that the prevalence of insomnia was 75.31%, high studyholism was found in 15.31% of the sample, and increased study engagement was detected in 16.94%. Gender differences analysis revealed that females reported higher studyholism and bedtime proc…

Global analysis of the pMSSM in light of the Fermi GeV excess: prospects for the LHC Run-II and astroparticle experiments
2016
We present a new global fit of the 19-dimensional phenomenological Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (pMSSM-19) that comply with all the latest experimental results from dark matter indirect, direct and accelerator dark matter searches. We show that the model provides a satisfactory explanation of the excess of gamma-rays from the Galactic centre observed by the Fermi~Large Area Telescope, assuming that it is produced by the annihilation of neutralinos in the Milky Way halo. We identify two regions that pass all the constraints: the first corresponds to neutralinos with a mass ~80-100 GeV annihilating into WW with a branching ratio of 95% ; the second to heavier neutralinos, with mass ~…
Opis frazeologii w słowniku gwarowym Jana Karłowicza a późniejsza praktyka leksykograficzna
2020
The aim of the article is to show how to list and develop phraseology in the oldest Polish dialect dictionary: A Dictionary of Polish Dialects by Jan Karłowicz, and then discuss the placement of phraseology in the macro- and microstructure of later, 20th century selected dialectal dictionaries. Therefore, the article is an overview of the tradition of lexical development and study of phraseology in dialectal dictionaries (on the example of Silesian Dialect Dictionary, Polish Dialects Dictionary by Polish Academy of Sciences, the dictionary of Bernard Sychta, Dictionary of Ostróda, Warmia and Mazury Dialects).
Miejsce frazeologii w słownikach gwarowych
2016
The aim of this article is to research the ways of developing phraseology and its emplacement into the macro- and microstructure in selected dialectal dictionaries (academic and popular). The first part is an overview of the phraseology, as included in introductions to the dictionaries. In the second part, using specific examples, the author discusses how the methodological and editorial assumptions adopted by dictionary authors/editors are followed in practice. The study of introductions and analysis of the lexical material reveal that in the absence of clearly framed methodological assumptions and detailed editorial guidelines on how to present phraseology in dialectal dictionaries, the q…
How many longitudinal covariate measurements are needed for risk prediction?
2014
Abstract Objective In epidemiologic follow-up studies, many key covariates, such as smoking, use of medication, blood pressure, and cholesterol, are time varying. Because of practical and financial limitations, time-varying covariates cannot be measured continuously, but only at certain prespecified time points. We study how the number of these longitudinal measurements can be chosen cost-efficiently by evaluating the usefulness of the measurements for risk prediction. Study Design and Setting The usefulness is addressed by measuring the improvement in model discrimination between models using different amounts of longitudinal information. We use simulated follow-up data and the data from t…
DOBRO : a prediction error correcting robot under drifts
2016
We propose DOBRO, a light online learning module, which is equipped with a smart correction policy helping making decision to correct or not the given prediction depending on how likely the correction will lead to a better prediction performance. DOBRO is a standalone module requiring nothing more than a time series of prediction errors and it is flexible to be integrated into any black-box model to improve its performance under drifts. We performed evaluation in a real-world application with bus arrival time prediction problem. The obtained results show that DOBRO improved prediction performance significantly meanwhile it did not hurt the accuracy when drift does not happen.
