International audience; This paper describes the design of teaching materials that are used as learning tools in school visits to a science museum. An exhibition on the A century of the Special Theory of Relativity, in the Kutxaespacio Science Museum, in San Sebastian (Spain), was used to design a visit for first year engineering students at the university and assess the learning which was achieved. Children who write about wise female protagonists of tales, children who think

[EN] Within the proposed theme, this article has as its overall objective to provide a search that shows children’s texts of the third grade of Childhood Education and second-year-elementary-school students on traditional tales starring wise women. To obtain the texts has been designed and implemented a didactic sequence. The results achieved and the analysis carried out show that the writings made by children are successful texts. Stand out, to conclude, some key aspects of the investigation: the proposal of activities with regard to the school and the approach of different mediations as didactic sequence and literary texts, which become an engine of learning for the children.

In the Third book of his Bibliotheca, Diodorus Siculus includes an account of the Egyptian gold mines and describes the terrible living conditions of the slaves who are exploited to extract the metal. In this regard, Diodorus’ source is the historian Agatharchides of Cnidus, whose account is handed down by the Byzantine writer Photius. The comparison between the two texts allows scholars to highlight the different historical perspective of Diodorus, which privileges a worldview dominated by philanthropy and compassion for the most peripheral humanity.
