RESUMEN El presente estudio investigó las relaciones entre la autoestima, la soledad y el uso problemático del smartphone y las diferencias de género. La muestra fue no probabilística y estuvo compuesta por 202 participantes (106 hombres y 96 mujeres), con edades comprendidas entre los 18 y los 58 años, que completaron las siguientes pruebas: Smartphone Addiction Scale, Social and Emotional Loneliness Scale for Adults y Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg. The aim of the study was to investigate intercultural adaptation of occupational immigrants to Finnish working life and culture and identify factors that support or hinder the adaptation process. Due to demographic changes in the society and the increasing number of foreigners in Finnish workplaces, the study of occupational immigration is a very contemporary topic. The national authorities recently implemented the first major program —Diaspora Start-up—to support the business initiatives of Romanian citizens who live abroad and who are interested in opening a business in their home country. Association between Anxiety, Quality of Life and Academic Performance of the Final-Year-Students in Latvia

The main objective of this study was to investigate the association between final-year students’ anxiety level and quality of life (QOL) with their academic achievements. A longitudinal study was performed in regular schools and in high-rated gymnasiums at the beginning and at the end of the school year. Multiple linear regression models were built for the association between level of anxiety/QOL with academic achievements. Regional differences in Italian students' performance: a simulation model

This work presents the first results of a research project seeking to build a simulation model able to reproduce the differences of Italian students’ performance at regional level. A preliminary qualitative cause-and-effect model defines the main variable involved in the inter-generational skill formation processes, as well as their interplay with the job market context and the triggering of motivational forces for new skill acquisition. Exploring relations between Big Five personality traits and musical emotions embodied in spontaneous dance

We explored the hypothesis that musical emotions are embodied differentially by people according to their personality. Nine hundred and fifty two individuals completed the Big Five personality inventory. A subset of 60 participants were asked to spontaneously move to 30 short musical stimuli while being recorded with a motion-capture system. The musical stimuli were separately rated for perceived emotions. Embodied musical emotions were evaluated as the correlation between features derived from the motion-capture data and the mean ratings of perceived emotions.
