In this paper the viscoelastic behavior of pultruded beams has been examined. Pultruded beams are constituted by a polymer infilled with reinforcement in longitudinal direction, while in the orthogonal direction no fiber are present for technological reasons. As a consequence the material has two different behaviors in longitudinal and in orthogonal directions. It follows that pultruded beams are transversally isotropic, and the shear deformation may not be neglected. Osteolytic bone disease is the major complication associated with the progression of multiple myeloma (MM). Recently, extracellular vesicles (EVs) have emerged as mediators of MM-associated bone disease by inhibiting the osteogenic differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs). Here, we investigated a correlation between the EV-mediated osteogenic inhibition and MM vesicle content, focusing on miRNAs. In Streptomyces coelicolor small open reading frames were identified in several amino acids biosynthetic gene clusters, like SCO2038 (trpX) in the tryptophan trpCXBA locus. Here, the role of SCO2038, encoding a 63 amino acid protein, was investigated by both phenotypic and molecular analyses. A SCO2038 knockout mutant strain showed a delayed growth on minimal medium (MM), compromised actinorhodin biosynthesis and poor sporulation. The capability of this mutant to grow on MM was restored by tryptophan’s and its precursors’ supplementation. Lasten akuutin lymfoblastileukemian ylläpitovaiheen hoidossa tehtävät lääkeannostuspäätökset pohjataan nykyisin potilaan veren valkosolupitoisuuteen, joka on hoidon tehokkuudesta kertova tekijä. Potilaalle sopiva lääkeannostus on hoidon onnistumisen ja turvallisuuden kannalta tärkeä, mutta sen löytäminen on vaikeaa, sillä annettu lääkitys näkyy valkosolupitoisuudessa viiveellä, ja potilaiden elimistön reagointi lääkitykseen on yksilöllistä. Sopivan lääkeannostuksen löytämistä hankaloittavat myös hoidonaikaiset tulehdukset, jotka voivat muuttaa valkosolupitoisuutta hetkellisesti. CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) -opetus eli vieraskielinen opetus tähtää sujuvaan kommunikaatioon ja monipuoliseen kielenkäyttöön ja tuo mukanaan uudenlaisia haasteita eriyttämisen saralle. CLIL on kohtalaisen uusi metodi Suomessa, eikä yksittäisiä opetuksen osa-alueita kuten eriyttämistä ole tutkittu sen osalta kovinkaan laajalti. Eriyttäminen antaa jokaisella oppilaalle mahdollisuuden kehittyä omalla lähikehityksen vyöhykkeellään ja siksi eriyttämistä on tärkeää tutkia myös vieraan kielen kannalta CLIL-opetuksessa.
