Serological identification of HSP105 as a novel non-Hodgkin lymphoma therapeutic target.
2011
Abstract We reported that the clinical efficacy of dendritic cell–based vaccination is strongly associated with immunologic responses in relapsed B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL) patients. We have now investigated whether postvaccination antibodies from responders recognize novel shared NHL-restricted antigens. Immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry showed that they cross-react with allogeneic B-NHLs at significantly higher levels than their matched prevaccination samples or nonresponders' antibodies. Western blot analysis of DOHH-2 lymphoma proteome revealed a sharp band migrating at approximately 100 to 110 kDa only with postvaccine repertoires from responders. Mass spectrometry ident…
A passive solid sensor for in-situ colorimetric estimation of the presence of ketamine in illicit drug samples
2017
Abstract A colorimetric sensor has been developed for the presumptive detection of ketamine in illicit drug samples. The sensor has been prepared by immobilized the reagent Co(SCN) 2 into polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). When exposed to solutions of ketamine at a basic pH, the sensor color changes from brown to blue-purple due to the diffusion of the analyte molecules to the polymeric matrix and subsequent interaction with the reagent particles. The sensor enables the visual identification of amounts of drug as low as 30 μg in a few minutes. Quantification of ketamine is also possible through the measurement of the absorbance in diffuse reflectance mode. Under the proposed conditions, linear re…
In situ transcriptional profile of a germinal center plasmablastic burst hints at MYD88/CD79B mutants-enriched Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphomas
2021
AbstractThe germinal center (GC) reaction results in the selection of B-cells acquiring effector Ig secreting ability by progressing towards plasmablastic differentiation. This transition is associated with exclusion from the GC microenvironment. The aberrant expansion of plasmablastic elements within the GC fringes configures an atypical condition, the biological characteristics of which have not been defined yet. We investigated the in situ immunophenotypical and transcriptional characteristics of a non-clonal germinotropic expansion of plasmablastic elements (GEx) occurring in the tonsil of a young patient. Compared to neighboring GC and peri-follicular regions, the GEx showed a distinct…
K2AuPS4, TI2AuPS4, K2AuAsS4, and KAu5P2S8: Syntheses, structures, and properties of quaternary gold thiophosphate and thioarsenate compounds
1998
The novel compounds K2AuPS4 (1), Tl2AuPS4 (2), K2AuAsS4 (3), and KAu5P2S8 (4) have been synthesized by direct reaction of the elements with a molten alkaline polythiophosphate(arsenate) flux at 550°C. The crystal structures of these compounds have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. 1, 2, and 3 crystallize in the monoclinic space group P21/m. The structures of 1, 2, and 3 consist of infinite, one-dimensional anionic chains running along the crystallographic b axis. The chains are separated by potassium or thallium ions. Neighbouring Au atoms are bridged by MS43− tetrahedra (M = P, As) in a trans orientation. Compound 4 crystallizes in the space group P21/c. The a…
Safety and Clinical Activity of the Anti-CD22 Immunoconjugate Inotuzumab Ozogamicin (CMC-544) in Combination with Rituximab in Follicular Lymphoma or…
2008
Abstract Inotuzumab ozogamicin (CMC-544) is an antibody-targeted chemotherapy agent composed of a humanized CD22 antibody, conjugated to calicheamicin, a potent cytotoxic antitumor agent. Inotuzumab ozogamicin targets B-cell malignancies since they often express CD22. In a previously reported phase 1 dose-escalation trial in patients with CD22-positive B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL), the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) was determined to be 1.8 mg/m2 every 4 weeks. Responses were seen in patients with both follicular lymphoma (FL) and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). This ongoing study consisted of a limited dose escalation (DE) portion to confirm the MTD of inotuzumab ozogamicin whe…
Prospects for detecting the diffuse supernova neutrino background with JUNO
2022
We present the detection potential for the diffuse supernova neutrino background (DSNB) at the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), using the inverse-beta-decay (IBD) detection channel on free protons. We employ the latest information on the DSNB flux predictions, and investigate in detail the background and its reduction for the DSNB search at JUNO. The atmospheric neutrino induced neutral current (NC) background turns out to be the most critical background, whose uncertainty is carefully evaluated from both the spread of model predictions and an envisaged in situ measurement. We also make a careful study on the background suppression with the pulse shape discrimination (PSD) …

Genome-wide association study identifies multiple susceptibility loci for diffuse large B cell lymphoma
2014
Diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common lymphoma subtype and is clinically aggressive. To identify genetic susceptibility loci for DLBCL, we conducted a meta-analysis of 3 new genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and 1 previous scan, totaling 3,857 cases and 7,666 controls of European ancestry, with additional genotyping of 9 promising SNPs in 1,359 cases and 4,557 controls. In our multi-stage analysis, five independent SNPs in four loci achieved genome-wide significance marked by rs116446171 at 6p25.3 (EXOC2; P = 2.33 × 10 '21), rs2523607 at 6p21.33 (HLA-B; P = 2.40 × 10 '10), rs79480871 at 2p23.3 (NCOA1; P = 4.23 × 10 '8) and two independent SNPs, rs13255292 and rs47336…
ABSTRACT Genit…
Overview of the pathology of three widely used animal models of acute lung injury
2007
Acute lung injury (ALI) and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) are syndromes of acute diffuse damage to the pulmonary parenchyma by a variety of local or systemic insults. Increased alveolar capillary membrane permeability was recognized as the common end organ injury and a central feature in all forms of ALI/ARDS. Although great strides have been made in understanding the pathogenesis of ALI/ARDS and in intensive care medicine, the treatment approach to ARDS is still relying on ventilatory and cardiovascular support based on the recognition of the clinical picture. In the course of evaluating novel treatment approaches to ARDS, 3 models of ALI induced in different species, i.e. the…
