Derivación de Orden Fraccional Mediante Redes de Período Largo en Fibra Óptica

La presente tesis tiene como tema principal el diseño y fabricación de redes de difracción en fibra óptica para aplicaciones en procesamiento de señales ultrarrápidas. Específicamente, se logra demostrar experimentalmente cómo bajo ciertas condiciones, dispositivos fotónicos construidos en fibra óptica pueden utilizarse como operadores matemáticos de cálculo fraccional. La microscopía óptica convencional alcanzó el límite en resolución que predice la difracción por medio del empleo de sofisticados objetivos de microscopio, que consiguen la captura de la información espacial en el espacio de la muestra con un ángulo de captura de prácticamente 70º en aire, esto es, aperturas numéricas (NA) de 0.9 (y mayores si existe un medio de inmersión). Existe la posibilidad de sobrepasar dicho límite o, mejor dicho, encontrar otro límite en resolución siempre que el microscopio que se emplee no pueda entenderse como un microscopio convencional. Caracterización mineralógica de materias primas cerámicas por métodos cuantitativos de difracción de rayos x

[ES] El objetivo de este trabajo es la caracterización de fases minerales presentes en materias primas utilizadas en la industria cerámica. Para ello se utilizan dos métodos cuantitativos basados en la difracción de rayos X, el método de Rietveld y un método sin estándar. Los resultados obtenidos por difracción rayos X de estos materiales policristalinos se comparan con los correspondientes análisis químicos y la composición normativa calculada. In this work we introduce a virtual laboratory, APERIODIC DIFFRACT, developed in Matlab GUI (Graphical User Interface) as an informatics tool for teaching the diffractive properties of aperiodic gratings. High-pressure structural, elastic, and thermodynamic properties of zircon-type HoPO4 and TmPO4

[EN] Zircon-type holmium phosphate (HoPO4) and thulium phosphate (TmPO4) have been studied by single-crystal x-ray diffraction and ab initio calculations. We report on the influence of pressure on the crystal structure, and on the elastic and thermodynamic properties. The equation of state for both compounds is accurately determined. We have also obtained information on the polyhedral compressibility which is used to explain the anisotropic axial compressibility and the bulk compressibility. Both compounds are ductile and more resistive to volume compression than to shear deformation at all pressures. Furthermore, the elastic anisotropy is enhanced upon compression. Difract: Un nuevo laboratorio virtual para la modelización matemática de las propiedades de difracción de redes fractales

[EN] This work presents a new virtual laboratory, Difract, developed with Easy Java Simulations, for using in Optics courses as a computer tool for the mathematical modelling of the diffraction properties of 1D and 2D fractal gratings. This virtual laboratory enables students to quickly and easily analyze the influence on the Fraunhofer diffraction pattern of the different construction parameters of the fractal grating. As an application example, the Cantor fractal set has been considered.

Impact of lens material on objective refraction in eyes with trifocal diffractive intraocular lenses

Purpose: Compare subjective (Rx) and objective (ObjRx) refractions outcomes with two autorefractors models and an aberrometer in eyes implanted with a hydrophobic trifocal IOL (FineVision POD F GF, Physiol, Liége, Belgium) and a hydrophilic one (FineVision POD F, Physiol, Liége, Belgium). Structural and Vibrational Properties of Corundum-type In2O3 Nanocrystals under Compression

[EN] This work reports the structural and vibrational properties of nanocrystals of corundum-type In2O3 (rh-In2O3) at high pressures by using angle-dispersive x-ray diffraction and Raman scattering measurements up to 30 GPa. The equation of state and the pressure dependence of the Raman-active modes of the corundum phase in nanocrystals are in good agreement with previous studies on bulk material and theoretical simulations on bulk rh-In2O3. Nanocrystalline rh-In2O3 showed stability under compression at least up to 20 GPa, unlike bulk rh-In2O3 which gradually transforms to the orthorhombic Pbca (Rh2O3-III-type) structure above 12 14 GPa.
