We propose to develop / expand the concept of “digital edition of a text”. The specific value of a digital edition is not only in the digital form of representation of textual information: dynamic rather than static, resulting in better visual or practical usability, but it mainly lays in the ability to work with computational methods on the text and on the information it conveys. <title>Photonic vascular diagnostics by four-channel photoplethysmography</title>

A four-channel photoplethysmography device was designed and built at University of Latvia to detect signals from different body parts and to analyze the signal shapes. The device consists of optical contact probes, interface, and a standard PC. Clinical tests were performed with occlusion patients having vascular problems at arm or leg arteries. A novel method for performing color image recognition by the use of the coherent joint-transform correlator is introduced. The input plane of the proposed method is a spatial rearrangement of the separation into color channels of both the color input scene and the color target. This input plane is gray scaled and monochromatic, thus it can be displayed by the use of amplitude spatial light modulators to achieve real-time operation. The system provides a single output-plane result of the optical coherent addition of the separate channels’ correlation outputs. Multi-channel chromatic transformations for nonlinear color pattern recognition

We present a new approach for color pattern recognition based on multi-channel nonlinear correlations. High discrimination capability is obtained in comparison with common linear multi-channel detection methods. We apply the nonlinear morphological correlation to different color channel decompositions as RGB and ATD channels. Moreover, in order to improve the discrimination we have introduced a new color transformation. When a high selectivity is required, the combination of the nonlinear correlation and the new color decomposition yields to detect the object using just a single channel. Simulation results are provided.

This work uses the S-CIELAB color model to compare images that have been calibrated and processed using a colorimetric dithering method which simulates increments in viewing distance. Firstly, we obtain XYZ calibrated images by applying the appropriate color transformations to the original images. These transformations depend on whether the image is viewed on a display device or encoded by a capture device, for example. The recent COVID-19 pandemic has triggered an enormous stream of information. Parascientific digital communication has pursued different avenues, from mainstream media news to social networking, at times combined. Likewise, citizens have developed new discourse practices, with readers as active participants who claim authority. Based on a corpus of 500 reader comments from The Guardian, we analyse how readers build their authorial voice on COVID-19 news as well as their agentive power and its implications.
