It is inevitable that ethical questions arise in debt collection organizations and leadership, which is then good ground to identify whether debt collection is good or evil. Therefore we consider that a good standpoint for qualitatively explain the ethical dilemmas arising in our case study context. The article adopts a case study approach to examine Finnish Collection Agency Ltd., and applies a qualitative content analysis of interview data gathered by asking five employees to answer ten questions about how they see conflicts between their work and their own ethical thoughts. Bakalaura darbā aplūkotas Ķīnas un ASV attiecības 21. gadsimtā saistībā ar Dienvidķīnas jūras reģionu. Darba mērķis ir apskatīt ASV un Ķīnas attiecības caur drošības dilemmas prizmu. Tiks apskatīts drošības dilemmas koncepts, tā attīstības vēsture un veidošanās nosacījumi. Tiks veikta analīze, balstoties uz šī brīža situāciju starp ASV un Ķīnu, noskaidrots, kādā drošības dilemmas posmā ir abu valstu attiecības – pasīvajā, aktivizētajā, akūtajā vai spirālē. Darbā izvirzīta hipotēze: ASV un Ķīnas attiecības ir nonākušas drošības dilemmas drošības dilemmas modeļa pedējā posmā – aktivizētajā drošības dilemmā. Minētā hipotēze pētījuma gaitā apstiprinājās.

Managers’ Moral Struggle : A Case Study on Ethical Dilemmas and Ethical Decision-making in the Context of Immigration

This qualitative study explores the types of ethical dilemmas that Finnish managers working in reception centres for asylum seekers have encountered and whether the moral intensity of the ethical issues was observable in the ethical decision-making. It concludes that the majority of the managers interviewed encountered ethical dilemmas relating to the termination of reception services. The ethical dilemmas were stratified into seven groups: ambiguous or complete absence of relevant instructions, lack of support, conflicting values, withholding information, pressure, discretionary stress, and unjust decisions on asylum applications. School Psychologists' Ethical Strain and Rumination : Individual Profiles and Their Associations with Weekly Well-Being

We investigated school psychologists’ experiences of ethical strain (the frequency of ethical dilemmas at work and the stress caused by these dilemmas) and dilemma-related rumination outside working hours. Individual latent profiles were estimated at the study baseline based on these three dimensions. The psychologists’ weekly well-being (vigor, exhaustion, and sleep quality) was compared against their profile during the following three working weeks. The sample included 133 school psychologists, among whom four groups were identified: Low ruminators (39%), an Intermediate group (39%), High ruminators (20%), and Atypical outliers (2%). This study examined what kinds of ethical dilemmas managers working in reception centers in Finland have encountered as well as what kinds of strategies they applied in ethically challenging situations, and finally, what ethical dimensions the strategies included. This specific topic has not been investigated before, thus, this study aimed to theoretically and empirically examine it.
