Consumer Engagement in Online Settings: Conceptualization and Validation of Measurement Scales
2015
This paper addresses the conceptualization, scale development and scale validation related to the study of consumer engagement in online settings. It first reviews this concept and draws attention to the multidimensionality of the construct, considering the underlying cognitive, emotional, and behavioral dimensions of consumer engagement. Then, it presents the foundation of this concept in relationship marketing and adds support to this proposition. Further, it proposes the construction and psychometric assessment of a 37 scales that examine all three dimensions, based on an international sample of 110 respondents who engage with a brand on a social media network. Based on multiple and succ…
SOME INTERCULTURAL CONSIDERATIONS ON CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY - CASE STUDY: ROMANIA AND HOFSTEDE'S CULTURAL DIMENSIONS
2013
Globalization is creating the need for new ways of understanding, managing and coping with culture differences. Corporations should take into account these differences when fundamenting their international strategies, even in regard to their business ethic and social responsibility goals. In this article we try to indicate some of the implications that intercultural factors can have on the companies actions regarding CSR.
Market Segmentation in the Decision Making Process in Tourism
2014
In this paper, I examine the responses of 154 tourists in relation to their predisposition to purchase and the patterns and habits that are usually decisive in the decision making process regarding tourism services or products. For this research, I conducted a selective direct research, whose purpose was to obtain a segmentation of consumers who purchase tourism services based on specific dimensions of behavior. This research also implied studying the behavior of current and potential customers who purchase travel services depending on several variables for establishing different consumption habits. Thus, to establish a more detailed image of the tourists who participated in this direct and…
THE SOCIAL DIMENSION OF THE ROMANIAN ENERGY SYSTEM
2013
Development towards a more sustainable energy system is today a priority for most governments around the world. In this paper we analyze one of the four dimensions of the energy sector in Romania. Based on but not limited to the four Energy Indicators for Sustainable Development regarding the social dimension published by the IAEA in 2005 and using data published by the Romanian National Institute of Statistics we aimed to reflect the need for (safe) access to basic energy services in the form of commercial energy at affordable rates and put it into a larger political and policy perspective of the present situation in Romania. We provide recommendations regarding further options for policy …
The effectiveness of leadership development in the military context from a gender viewpoint
2021
In this case study, leadership development is investigated from the viewpoint of women in a military context. In particular, the effectiveness of a leadership development program in a specific context, namely the Finnish Defence Forces, is explored. The program being studied is unique because it is concerned with developing volunteers, not professional soldiers. A longitudinal, interview-based study of the topic was conducted with women who had participated in the program. The data consists of 45 open-ended interviews with 15 women. Each woman was interviewed three times: at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the program. Content analysis was used to analyse the data. The result…
Human Research in Technology Design
2021
Modern technology design processes in intelligent societies are different from the classic electromechanical technology design processes. Future technology design must be based as much on human research as on natural scientific thinking. Today one can find technologies such as social media applications which are created with minimal technical effort. Thus, understanding the human dimension of technologies is becoming much more important today than in the time of electromechanical technologies. The change in focus motivates to pay attention to the foundational differences between natural science and human research in technology design. The differences between the two traditions have been dis…
The Lorenz system : hidden boundary of practical stability and the Lyapunov dimension
2020
On the example of the famous Lorenz system, the difficulties and opportunities of reliable numerical analysis of chaotic dynamical systems are discussed in this article. For the Lorenz system, the boundaries of global stability are estimated and the difficulties of numerically studying the birth of self-excited and hidden attractors, caused by the loss of global stability, are discussed. The problem of reliable numerical computation of the finite-time Lyapunov dimension along the trajectories over large time intervals is discussed. Estimating the Lyapunov dimension of attractors via the Pyragas time-delayed feedback control technique and the Leonov method is demonstrated. Taking into accoun…
Problem dystansu władzy w szwedzkich materiałach dydaktycznych jako przykład dobrych praktyk
2016

Wybrane wymiary osobowości a wypalenie zawodowe w grupie strażaków zawodowych i ochotników
2021
The purpose of this research was to examine the relationships between selected personality dimensions and occupational burnout among professional and volunteer firefighters. Difficult conditions are the cause of loss of not only health but also life. Such working conditions may cause occupational burnout consisting of employee’s exhaustion. Material and Methods: The group under examination consisted of 164 firefighters, including 76 volunteers aged 19–61 years (M = 32.49, SD = 9.21) and 88 professional firefighters aged 20–49 years (M = 33.85, SD = 10.05). This research employed the Maslach Burnout Inventory and Gough and Heilburn’s Adjective Check List along with the Personality and Axiolo…
