The M.U.S.E. project: A nursing-centered MUltidimensional aSsessment of Elderly outpatient with comorbidities
2017
Objective: Increasingly exacerbations of chronic diseases in frail elderly, causes reduction of patients' quality of life and lead to significant increases in resource utilization and cost to the health care system. A multidimensional and multidisciplinary assessment of an older person allows the identification of the level of stability or fragility of the patient, thereby determining a prognosis and a tailored therapeutic approach. Besides, the revaluation over time allows you to understand the evolution, the critical points of the natural history of the person, tailoring interventions to reduce the risk of disability, hospitalization, and death. The aim of our study is to implement a new …
Seizure Prediction Using EEG Channel Selection Method
2022
Seizure prediction using intracranial electroencephalogram (iEEG) is still challenging because of complicated signals in spatial and time domains. Feature selection in the spatial domain (i.e., channel selection) has been largely ignored in this field. Hence, in this paper, a novel approach of iEEG channel selection strategy combined with one-dimensional convolutional neural networks (1D-CNN) was presented for seizure prediction. First, 15-sec and 30-sec iEEG segments with an increasing number of channels (from one channel to all channels) were sequentially fed into 1D-CNN models for training and testing. Then, the channel case with the best classification rate was selected for each partici…
On displacement-velocity coupling and the origin of in-plane stress in orthotropic moving continua
2014
In this paper, we address the problem of the origin of in-plane stresses in continuous, two-dimensional high-speed webs. In the case of thin, slender webs, a typical modeling approach is the application of a stationary in-plane model, without considering the effects of in-plane velocity field. However, for high-speed webs this approach is insufficient, because it neglects the coupling between the total material velocity and the deformation experienced by the material. By using a mixed Lagrange–Euler approach in model derivation, the solid continuum problem can be transformed to solid a continuum flow problem. Mass conservation in the flow problem, and the behaviour of free edges in the two-dime…
ISODECIMAL NUMBERS
2006
The aim of this paper is to investigate pairs of real numbers of the type $(x,\frac{1}{x}),$ \ $(x,\frac{a}{x})$ and $(x,x^{2}),$ where the first component is a real number $x\neq0$ and the fractional parts of the coordinates are equal. We call such numbers \textit{isodecimal}.
Game bridge : kohti ammatillisia avaintaitoja
2011
Ympäristön päätarkoituksena on k…
Assouad Type Dimensions in Geometric Analysis
2021
We consider applications of the dual pair of the (upper) Assouad dimension and the lower (Assouad) dimension in analysis. We relate these notions to other dimensional conditions such as a Hausdorff content density condition and an integrability condition for the distance function. The latter condition leads to a characterization of the Muckenhoupt Ap properties of distance functions in terms of the (upper) Assouad dimension. It is also possible to give natural formulations for the validity of Hardy–Sobolev inequalities using these dual Assouad dimensions, and this helps to understand the previously observed dual nature of certain cases of these inequalities. peerReviewed
Merging Features from Green's Functions and Time Dependent Density Functional Theory: A Route to the Description of Correlated Materials out of Equil…
2016
We propose a description of nonequilibrium systems via a simple protocol that combines exchange-correlation potentials from density functional theory with self-energies of many-body perturbation theory. The approach, aimed to avoid double counting of interactions, is tested against exact results in Hubbard-type systems, with respect to interaction strength, perturbation speed and inhomogeneity, and system dimensionality and size. In many regimes, we find significant improvement over adiabatic time dependent density functional theory or second Born nonequilibrium Green's function approximations. We briefly discuss the reasons for the residual discrepancies, and directions for future work.
The action of a compact Lie group on nilpotent Lie algebras of type {{n,2}}
2015
Abstract We classify finite-dimensional real nilpotent Lie algebras with 2-dimensional central commutator ideals admitting a Lie group of automorphisms isomorphic to SO 2 ( ℝ ) ${{\mathrm{SO}}_{2}(\mathbb{R})}$ . This is the first step to extend the class of nilpotent Lie algebras 𝔥 ${{\mathfrak{h}}}$ of type { n , 2 } ${\{n,2\}}$ to solvable Lie algebras in which 𝔥 ${{\mathfrak{h}}}$ has codimension one.
Stochastic fracture analysis of systems with moving material
2015
This paper considers the probability of fracture in a system in which a material travels supported by rollers. The moving material is subjected to longitudinal tension for which deterministic and stochastic models are studied. In the stochastic model, the tension is described by a multi-dimensional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. The material is assumed to have initial cracks perpendicular to the travelling direction, and a stochastic counting process describes the occurrence of cracks in the longitudinal direction of the material. The material is modelled as isotropic and elastic, and LEFM is applied. For a general counting process, when there is no fluctuation in tension, the reliability of t…
