Temperature effects explain continental scale distribution of cyanobacterial toxins

Insight into how environmental change determines the production and distribution of cyanobacterial toxins is necessary for risk assessment. Management guidelines currently focus on hepatotoxins (microcystins). Increasing attention is given to other classes, such as neurotoxins (e.g., anatoxin-a) and cytotoxins (e.g., cylindrospermopsin) due to their potency. Most studies examine the relationship between individual toxin variants and environmental factors, such as nutrients, temperature and light. Augsts angļu valodas prasmes līmenis ir viena no prasībām darbam aviācijas nozarē, kur angļu valoda ir darba valoda. Pētījumā tika izmantota gadījuma izpēte, kuras mērķis bija izvērtēt izvēlēto stjuartu angļu valodas mācību grāmatu un tiešsaistes materiālu lietderību valodas apguvei pašmācības ceļā. Pētījumā iesaistītie stjuarti vēlējās uzlabot visas valodu prasmes, kā arī uzskatīja, ka šādos materiālos ir jābūt iekļautiem ar gramatiku, leksiku un izrunu saistītiem uzdevumiem, pārbaudes darbiem, vizuāliem līdzekļiem, apgūstamo vārdu sarakstiem un dažādiem papildmateriāliem. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis ir analizēt, vai lingvistiskais netiešums var izraisīt lingvistiski-pragmatisko kļūdu, un kādus lingvistiskos instrumentus var izmantot, lai izvairītos no konflikta. Lai analizētu politisko interviju plašsaziņas līdzekļos, tiek izmantota kvalitatīva pētījuma metode, kuras mērķis ir izpētīt, kā atrisināt lingvistisko netiešumu sarunā, kā atšķirt pateikto no tā, ko vēlas pateikt, kā arī to, kā izvairīties no lingvistiski–pragmatiskās kļūdas neskaidras valodas dēļ. Geometric Aspects of Thermodynamics

This chapter deals with mathematical aspects of thermodynamics most of which will be seen to be primarily of geometrical nature. Starting with a short excursion to differentiable manifolds we summarize the properties of functions, of vector fields and of one-forms on thermodynamic manifolds. This summary centers on exterior forms over Euclidean spaces and the corresponding differential calculus. In particular, one-forms provide useful tools for the analysis of thermodynamics. Egg parasitoid attraction toward induced plant volatiles is disrupted by a non-host herbivore attacking above or belowground plant organs.

Plants respond to insect oviposition by emission of oviposition-induced plant volatiles (OIPVs) which can recruit egg parasitoids of the attacking herbivore. To date, studies demonstrating egg parasitoid attraction to OIPVs have been carried out in tritrophic systems consisting of one species each of plant, herbivore host, and the associated egg parasitoid. Less attention has been given to plants experiencing multiple attacks by host and non-host herbivores that potentially could interfere with the recruitment of egg parasitoids as a result of modifications to the OIPV blend.
