Compensation of Oxygen Transmittance Effects for Proximal Sensing Retrieval of Canopy–Leaving Sun–Induced Chlorophyll Fluorescence
2018
Estimates of Sun–Induced vegetation chlorophyll Fluorescence (SIF) using remote sensing techniques are commonly determined by exploiting solar and/or telluric absorption features. When SIF is retrieved in the strong oxygen (O 2 ) absorption features, atmospheric effects must always be compensated. Whereas correction of atmospheric effects is a standard airborne or satellite data processing step, there is no consensus regarding whether it is required for SIF proximal–sensing measurements nor what is the best strategy to be followed. Thus, by using simulated data, this work provides a comprehensive analysis about how atmospheric effects impact SIF estimations on proximal sensing, regarding: (…
Discriminación indirecta por pertenencia a minoría nacional : denegación de prestación de viudedad en el caso de matrimonio celebrado según el rito g…
2021
The commented sentence rejects that the Muñoz Díaz doctrine is applicable to all cases of gypsy marriage. In addition, it considers that the denial of effects to the union celebrated according to said rite is not discriminatory. This conclusion is discussed, understanding that the analysis of the singularities of the gypsy people must lead to the conclusion of the existence of indirect discrimination.
Different approaches to marriage downgrading : from an anti-elusive measure to an antidiscriminatory claim
2021
The essay focuses on the different mechanisms of marriage downgrading. Given the principle of ?cross-border continuity? of statuses, limits to this continuity are sometimes admitted and they are placed through downgrading mechanisms. That can occour in the case of same-sex marriages transcription in a Member State which does not allow such marriages, but which does allow samesex registered partnerships. Downgrading mechanism has an anti-elusive function, but it is not without problems in terms of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation. A different approach is taken in the case of an opposite-sex couple requesting the downgrading of their marriage, celebrated before the Member S…
Comparative analysis of observer depression scales
1985
Abstract The Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), Bech Rafaelsen Melancholia Scale (BRMS) and Montgomery Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) are analyzed according to mean discriminatory power, internal consistency, homogeneity and transferability. The analysis was done separately in different samples of patients with depressive syndromes: a) operationally defined depressive syndrome; b) Major Depressive Disorder (RDC); c) Major Depressive Disorder, endogenous type (RDC). BRMS and MADRS were superior to HAMD in all evaluated aspects. Further, the BRMS was superior to MADRS according to the criteria of homogeneity and transferability.
Diurnal and Seasonal Solar Induced Chlorophyll Fluorescence and Photosynthesis in a Boreal Scots Pine Canopy
2019
Solar induced chlorophyll fluorescence has been shown to be increasingly an useful proxy for the estimation of gross primary productivity (GPP), at a range of spatial scales. Here, we explore the seasonality in a continuous time series of canopy solar induced fluorescence (hereafter SiF) and its relation to canopy gross primary production (GPP), canopy light use efficiency (LUE), and direct estimates of leaf level photochemical efficiency in an evergreen canopy. SiF was calculated using infilling in two bands from the incoming and reflected radiance using a pair of Ocean Optics USB2000+ spectrometers operated in a dual field of view mode, sampling at a 30 min time step using custom written …
Analysis of shots in relation to the outcome in elite women's water polo matches. [Análisis de los lanzamientos en función del resultado en partidos …
2018
Abstract The aim of the current study was to investigate the shot performance of elite female water polo players according to their match outcome during three international tournaments, the 2012 Olympic Games, 2013 and 2014 FINA World Leagues. Twenty-four official matches footage [2012 Summer Olympic Games, n=8; 2013 FINA World League, n=8 and 2014 FINA World League, n=8] were obtained and analysed. The results showed that a similar playing style was used in both the 2012 and 2013 tournaments, independently of the outcome while in the 2014 FINA World League, winning teams performed more shots after displacement, more shots ending to zone 4 and scored more goals than losing ones (and fewer s…
A Metric for Automatic Word categorization
2008
This paper presents a metric to be used by the working prototype WIH (Web Intelligent Handler). This metric (referred here as po) is designed to reflect main topic words and discriminate certain text profiles through word weightings. The actual version is designed only for Spanish web texts. Statistical analyses show that it is possible to differentiate text profiles upon po behavior. A poll is presented also, showing that it is a good main words discriminator. This paper is posted here as a new algorithm useful for Spanish text processing.
Performance of Spectral Fitting Methods for vegetation fluorescence quantification
2010
The Fraunhofer Line Discriminator (FLD) principle has long been considered as the reference method to quantify solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (F) from passive remote sensing measurements. Recently, alternative retrieval algorithms based on the spectral fitting of hyperspectral radiance observations, Spectral Fitting Methods (SFMs), have been proposed. The aim of this manuscript is to investigate the performance of such algorithms and to provide relevant information regarding their use. FLD and SFMs were used to estimate F starting from Top Of Canopy (TOC) fluxes at very high spectral resolution (0.12 nm) and sampling interval (0.1 nm), exploiting the O2-B (687.0 nm) and O2-A (760.6 …
Effet plancher des auto-questionnaires pour l’évaluation des résultats des prothèses totales de genou
2021
Abstract Background Patient reported outcome measurements (PROMs) that exhibit a substantial ceiling effect show clustering of participant's scores towards the upper limit of a scale and consequently have low discriminatory power among high end scores. This study aimed to compare ceiling effects at 1 and 2 years postoperatively across commonly used PROMs for TKA. Hypothesis We hypothesized, that the analyzed PROMs differ substantially in regards to their ceiling effect. Patients and methods Patients that underwent a primary unilateral TKA and completed pre-operative and post-operative questionnaires were included in the analysis. Participants completed the KOOS, KOOS-12, KOOS-JR, KOOS-PS, W…
