„Janie do Cię wracamy w czarnoleskie lipy”. Polskie tradycje źródłowe w odmianach literacko-kulturowej współczesności (wybory — powtórzenia — różnice)
2020
The subject of the article — developed through the literary and cultural contexts of contem-porary literature — concentrates mainly on different forms of the presence of tradition (targeting the Romantic one as key and the Old Polish as the subsequent one). A look at the styles and tones of the literature-“thriving” languages of these traditions allows us to see these traditions in a different critical light (national symbols/Polish signs/patters/transformations).

The Role of General and Selective Task Instructions on Students’ Processing of Multiple Conflicting Documents
2019
This study was designed to test the role of general and selective task instructions when processing documents, which vary as regards trustworthiness and position toward a conflicting topic. With selective task instructions, we refer to concrete guidelines as how to read the texts and how to select appropriate documents and contents, in contrast to general task instructions. Sixty-one secondary school students were presented with four different conflicting documents in an electronic learning environment and were told to write an essay based on the information from the texts. Only half of the students were told to only use information from two out of the four texts to write their essay (i.e.,…
Standardised functional assessment in long-term care for older people: perspective of Finnish care workers
2021
Objective measures and documentation are increasingly used in the care for older people to promote efficiency and productivity. A standardised assessment of functional capacity is one such measure. In this study, we examined the meanings given to standardised functional assessment by care workers who provide long-term care for older people. Gathered from eight Finnish long-term care facilities, the data consisted of one-on-one interviews with practical and registered nurses (n = 24). In the data analysis, we employed the discursive approach. We identified three discourses in the care workers’ talks that differed in the meaning given to standardised functional assessment in the process of ca…

SARS-CoV-2 and the Risk Assessment Document in Italian Work: Specific or Generic Risk Even If Aggravated?
2021
In December 2019, several cases of atypical pneumonia were detected in Wuhan city, Hubei province, inland China. The initial outbreak was of considerable size first in China subsequently spread to the rest of the world. Immediately after the epidemic (which according to the World Health Organization had risen to pandemic status), the problem of whether or not to update the occupational risk assessment arose, also considering how the biological risk from SARS CoV-2 should be understood: specific or generic. To this end, we conducted a literature review to identify national health legislation and policies, examining how Italy has addressed the COVID-19 emergency in occupational health plannin…
