Calculating the implied correlation matrix for a Path Analysis model
2014
To overcome the limitations of two existing methods for calculating a Path Analysis implied correlation matrix, this paper presents an alternative method for calculating this matrix. This new method is based on a recurrence principle which is easy and quick to implement. This method is also operational regardless of the number of variables. The consequences of this result with the estimation or testing stages will be illustrated on the basis of examples.

This article begins with a delineation of the context of contemporary professional joumalism, particularly its markel-driven, technologically advanced and discursively diverse character. Journalism studies scholars trace media evolution with the aid of content analyses. Abstract The study addressed to what extent behavioral engagement and textual integration may differ when undergraduate readers work with identical printed versus digital texts in preparation for an exam versus for pleasure. We expected that working with printed texts would lead to greater engagement and better integration than working with digital texts, but that reading purpose would moderate this effect of reading medium because those reading in preparation for an exam would display greater engagement and better integration regardless of reading medium. Effects of reading real versus print-out versions of multiple documents on students? sourcing and integrated understanding

Abstract This study investigated the extent to which students’ sourcing and comprehension can be supported by the reading of real, as opposed to print-out versions of multiple documents. It was found that the reading of real rather than print-out versions of multiple documents on the issue of climate change increased students’ memory for source information and made them include more specific references to document sources in argument essays that they wrote about the issue. Our monetary economies of production are not based upon relative exchanges described by the standard theory. Money is neither a commodity nor a positive asset; it cannot be exchanged against physical goods and services. It follows that payments do not consist of mutual transfers of commodities. In fact, each producer working for the needs for the community produces wealth for himself. Further, transactions on any markets are absolute exchanges. One of the consequences of this is that market prices do not measure wealth; rather, they are coefficients of redistribution of products.

This paper critically examines Geoffrey Hodgson's recent provocative claim about Frank Knight as being a member of American institutionalism in the interwar years. In the first section of the paper the authors attempt to provide a definition of institutionalism and to emphasize its meaning from a historiographic point of view. Brief History of Computer Art and New Media Art in Latvia

The Soviet and particularly Latvian computer art is not a well-known topic of digital art history. This paper attempts to analyze this computer art in context of the 20th century art, considering the political circumstances in Soviet Union. At the turn of the 21st century after gaining the independence new media art examples and collaboration between scientists, computer scientists, software programmers and the artists are to be found in Latvia. Some recent media art events are mentioned from this viewpoint.
The VST Photometric Hα Survey of the Southern Galactic Plane and Bulge (VPHAS+)

The VST Photometric Halpha Survey of the Southern Galactic Plane and Bulge (VPHAS+) is surveying the southern Milky Way in u, g, r, i and Halpha at 1 arcsec angular resolution. Its footprint spans the Galactic latitude range -5 < b < +5 at all longitudes south of the celestial equator. Extensions around the Galactic Centre to Galactic latitudes +/-10 bring in much of the Galactic Bulge. This ESO public survey, begun on 28th December 2011, reaches down to 20th magnitude (10-sigma) and will provide single-epoch digital optical photometry for around 300 million stars. Participan en el estudio 26 profesores de 21 conservatorios públicos. El instrumento de recogida de la información ha sido el cuestionario diseñado según criterios basados en la sencillez, precisión y concreción de los 32 ítems que lo componen y la discreción y preservación del anonimato en el manejo de la información recabada. La metodología de la investigación ha sido mixta.
