Low rectal cancer: abdominoperineal resection or low Hartmann resection? A postoperative outcome analysis.

2011

BACKGROUND In distal rectum cancers, when the sphincters are not affected and it is not possible to perform a coloanal anastomosis because of the presence of comorbidities or the advanced age of the patient, a low Hartmann resection with total mesorectal excision can be performed. Low Hartmann resection is usually considered to be a shorter procedure and to have an inferior morbidity compared with abdominoperineal resection of the rectum. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to compare the postoperative outcome of a series of patients with low rectal cancer who have undergone either low Hartmann resection or abdominoperineal resection. DESIGN This study is a retrospective analysis of data collected i…

Palladium-catalyzed domino C-H/N-H functionalization: an efficient approach to nitrogen-bridged heteroacenes.

2015

Palladium-catalyzed domino C-H/N-H functionalization for the synthesis of novel nitrogen-bridged thienoacenes and 10H-benzo[4,5]thieno[3,2-b]indole derivatives from dihaloarene is reported. This domino sequence consists of initial C-H functionalization of the benzo[b]thiophene moiety, followed by Buchwald-Hartwig coupling. This transformation is also useful for the synthesis of highly π-extended compounds.

Stereoselective Synthesis of Spiro-Decalin Oxindole Derivatives via Sequential Organocatalytic Michael-Domino Michael/Aldol Reaction.

2022

A highly stereoselective procedure for the synthesis of spiro-polycyclic oxindoles bearing five contiguous stereogenic centers including two tetrasubstituted carbons has been developed. Under sequential organocatalysis performed by a pyrrolidine-based organocatalyst and DBU, a highly atom-economical Michael–domino Michael/aldol reaction sequence was optimized, yielding variously functionalized spiro-decalin oxindoles with excellent stereoselectivity (>99:1 dr, up to 92% ee). peerReviewed

Stereoselective Synthesis of Bromopiperidinones and their Conversion to Annulated Heterocycles

2009

N-Galactopyranosyl- and N-glucopyranosyl imines of aliphatic, aromatic and heteroaromatic aldehydes react with 1-methoxy-3-trimethylsilyloxy-1,3-butadiene in a domino Mannich-Michael reaction cascade to give 2-substituted 5,6-dehydro-piperidin-4-ones with high diastereoselectivity. Treatment of these cyclic enaminones with N-bromo-succinimide yields the corresponding 2-substituted 5-bromo-5,6-dehydropiperidinones which react with L-SelectrideⓇ or methylcuprate to afford the saturated bromo-piperidinones with high diastereoselectivity. Condensation reactions of these products with thioamides afford thiazolopiperidines

Thiourea-Catalyzed Domino Michael–Mannich [3+2] Cycloadditions: A Strategy for the Asymmetric Synthesis of 3,3′-Pyrrolidinyl-dispirooxindoles

2017

The asymmetric synthesis of trifluoromethylated 3,3′-pyrrolidinyl-dispirooxindole derivatives with four contiguous stereogenic centers, including two vicinal spiro-stereocenters, is described. Employing a bifunctional thiourea catalyst, a domino Michael–Mannich [3+2] cycloaddition occurs readily between isatin ketimines and isatin-derived enoates with good yields and very high stereoselectivities, providing a direct entry to the title compounds of potential medical value.

Akuuttien polvivammojen esiintyvyys 10-14-vuotiailla jalkapalloilijoilla

2017

Elina Myllymäki (2017). Akuuttien polvivammojen esiintyvyys 10-14-vuotiailla jalkapalloilijoilla. Terveystieteiden laitos, Jyväskylän yliopisto (fysioterapia), pro gradu-tutkielma, 40 s, 1 liite. Jalkapallon harrastajamäärä on jatkanut kasvuaan Suomessa ja maailmalla. Polvivammojen esiintyvyyden tunnetaan olevan vanhemmilla jalkapallon pelaajilla yleistä. Etenkin alle 13-vuotiaiden polvivammojen esiintyvyydestä on rajallisesti tutkimuksia, vaikka juuri puberteetin aikana riski loukkaant…
