Fabrication and characterization of Donor/Acceptor heterojunction organic solar cells

Results of initial development of organic solar cells having the Donor/Acceptor heterojunction structure with and without an exciton blocking layer are reported. Characterization is carried out in AM1.0 condition with 100 mW/cm2 incident optical power density. The best device has the exciton blocking layer and exhibits an open circuit voltage VOC = 0.43 V, a short circuit current density JSC = 2.35 mA/cm2 with a fill factor FF ≈ 50%, an external quantum efficiency (electrons/s over incident photons/s) EQE ≈ 5% and a power conversion efficiency of about 0.5%.

Low‐Valent Germanylidene Anions: Efficient Single‐Site Nucleophiles for Activation of Small Molecules

Abstract Rare mononuclear and helical chain low‐valent germanylidene anions supported by cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbene and hypermetallyl ligands were synthesised by stepwise reduction from corresponding germylene precursors via stable and isolable germanium radicals. The electronic structures of the anions can be described with ylidene and ylidone resonance forms with the Ge−C π‐electrons capable of binding even weak electrophiles. The germanylidene anions reacted with CO2 to give μ‐CO2‐κC:κO complexes, a rare coordination mode for low‐valent germanium and inaccessible for the related neutral germylones. Tunable Interaction Strength and Nature of the S···Br Halogen Bonds in [(Thione)Br2] Systems

The strength and nature of the S···Br and Br···Br interactions were systematically tuned by altering the electron donor properties of the thione group. Three new halogen-bonded compounds, [(N-methylbenzothiazole-2-thione)Br2]·0.5CH2Cl2 (1), [(2(3H)-benzothiazolethione)Br2] (2), and [(2-benzimidazolethione)Br]·[Br3] (3), were synthesized and studied structurally by using X-ray crystallography and computationally by using charge density analysis based on QTAIM calculations. Analysis of the interaction strength indicated a formation of surprisingly strong S···Br halogen bonds in 1 (−104 kJ mol–1, and RBrS = 0.64) and 2 (−116 kJ mol–1, and RBrS = 0.63) with a substantial covalent contribution. …

Tämä LuK-tutkielma käsittelee tiokruunueetterien metallikomplekseja. Tarkemman tarkastelun kohteeksi on valittu pelkkiä rikkidonoreita sisältävien tiokruunueettereiden hopea-, kulta-, kupari-, palladium- ja platinakompleksit, jotka ovat lisäksi homoleptisiä eli eivät sisällä tiokruunueetterien lisäksi muita ligandeja. Tutkielmassa on keskitetty lähinnä kompleksien rakenteisiin ja koordinaatiokemiaan.
Dzīvo nieres donoru lēmuma pieņemšanas aksioloģiskais pamatojums

Maģistra darba nosaukums ir „Dzīvo nieres donoru lēmuma pieņemšanas aksioloģiskais pamatojums”. Darba mērķis ir atklāt, kāpēc indivīds izvēlas kļūt par nieres donoru. Tēma Latvijā līdz šim nav pētīta. Darbā izmantoju dokumentu analīzi, mēdiju rakstu kontentanalīzi un interviju analīzi. Intervijas veiktas šī pētījuma ietvaros ar dzīvajiem nieres donoriem; papildus veikta viena eksperta intervija. Darba teorijā skatu citos vērtību pētījumos izmantotas vērtību struktūras. Kā nozīmīgas izvirzu dzīves kvalitātes pētījumos un bioētikā ietvertās vērtības. Pētījuma ietvaros atklāju gan nieres donoru lēmuma pieņemšanas situāciju un kontekstu, gan individuālās vērtības, kas saistītas ar lēmuma pieņem…
