Bs,d0→ℓ+ℓ− Decays in Two-Higgs Doublet Models
2016
Abstract We study the rare leptonic decays B s , d 0 → l + l − within the general framework of the aligned two-Higgs doublet model [1]. A complete one-loop calculation of the relevant short-distance Wilson coefficients is presented, with a detailed technical summary of the results. The phenomenological constraints imposed by present data on the model parameters are also investigated.

Implication of the 750 GeV diphoton resonance on two-Higgs-doublet model and its extensions with Higgs field
2015
We examine the implication of the 750 GeV diphoton resonance on the two-Higgs-doublet model imposing various theoretical and experimental constraints. The production rate of two-Higgs-doublet model is smaller than the cross section observed at the LHC by two order magnitude. In order to accommodate the 750 GeV diphoton resonance, we extend the two-Higgs-doublet model by introducing additional Higgs fields, and focus on two different extensions, an inert complex Higgs triplet and a real scalar septuplet. With the 125 GeV Higgs being agreement with the observed data, the production rate for the 750 GeV diphoton resonance can be enhanced to 0.6 fb for the former and 4.5 fb for the latter. The …
On the validity of perturbative studies of the electroweak phase transition in the Two Higgs Doublet model
2019
Abstract Making use of a dimensionally-reduced effective theory at high temperature, we perform a nonperturbative study of the electroweak phase transition in the Two Higgs Doublet model. We focus on two phenomenologically allowed points in the parameter space, carrying out dynamical lattice simulations to determine the equilibrium properties of the transition. We discuss the shortcomings of conventional perturbative approaches based on the resummed effective potential — regarding the insufficient handling of infrared resummation but also the need to account for corrections beyond 1-loop order in the presence of large scalar couplings — and demonstrate that greater accuracy can be achieved …
Transient FTIR spectroscopy after one- and two-colour excitation on a highly luminescent chromium(III) complex.
2021
The development of photoactive transition metal complexes with Earth-abundant metals is a rapidly growing research field, where a deeper understanding of the underlying photophysical processes is of great importance. A multitude of potential applications in the fields of photosensitizing, optical sensing, photoluminescence and photoredox catalysis motivates demanding spectroscopic studies. We applied a series of high-level spectroscopic methods on the previously reported highly luminescent chromium(iii) complex [Cr(ddpd)2](BF4)3 (ddpd = N,N'-dimethyl-N,N'-dipyridine-2-ylpyridine-2,6-diamine) possessing two near-IR emissive doublet states with microsecond lifetimes. Luminescence measurements…
Light charged Higgs at the beginning of the LHC era
2008
The terascale will be explored with the start of the LHC. One of the most fundamental questions which we expect to be answered is the root of electroweak symmetry breaking and whether the Higgs mechanism is realized in nature or not. In this context we pose the question if existing experimental data still allow for a light non-minimal Higgs sector. We tackle this question first in the context of the two Higgs doublet model and then we concentrate in two supersymmetric models, the constrained MSSM and the MSSM with non-universal Higgs masses. In both supersymmetric scearios, light pseudoscalar and light charged-Higgs bosons are still viable provided tan beta is large. In this regime, we emph…
Reduced-dose of doublet chemotherapy combined with anti-EGFR antibodies in vulnerable older patients with metastatic colorectal cancer: Data from the…
2022
Abstract Objectives To assess the toxicity patterns and effectiveness of doublet chemotherapy when administered at reduced doses of 20% (FOLFOX or FOLFIRI) in combination with anti-EGFR antibodies (cetuximab or panitumumab) in old, vulnerable patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Patients and methods We performed a retrospective observational study of RAS and BRAF wild-type, vulnerable patients aged ≥70 years with previously untreated mCRC. The primary endpoint was safety, and secondary endpoints were overall response rate (ORR), progression-free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS). Results One hundred and eighteen patients were collected from 14 selected Italian centres.…
Direct and indirect singlet scalar dark matter detection in the lepton-specific two-Higgs-doublet model
2011
A recent study of gamma-ray data from the Galactic Center motivates the investigation of light (~7-10 GeV) particle dark matter models featuring tau lepton pairs as dominant annihilation final state. The Lepton-Specific two-Higgs-doublet Model (2HDM-L) provides a natural framework where light, singlet scalar dark matter can pair-annihilate dominantly into tau leptons. We calculate the nucleon-dark matter cross section for singlet scalar dark matter within the 2HDM-L framework, and compare with recent results from direct detection experiments. We study how direct dark matter searches can be used to constrain the dark matter interpretation of gamma ray observations, for different dominant ann…
On the classification of accidental symmetries of the two Higgs doublet model potential
2011
Recently, it has been shown [arXiv:1106.3482] that the two-Higgs-doublet-model potential may exhibit a maximum of 13 distinct accidental symmetries. Such a classification is based on a six-dimensional bilinear scalar field formalism realizing the SO(1,5) symmetry group. This note presents the transformation relations for each of the 13 symmetries in the original scalar field space and their one-to-one correspondence to the space of scalar bilinears, thereby providing firm support for the completeness of the classification.
$ B_{s,d}^0 $ → ℓ + ℓ − decays in the aligned two-Higgs-doublet model
2014
The rare decays $B_{s,d}^0 \to \ell^+\ell^-$ are analyzed within the general framework of the aligned two-Higgs doublet model. We present a complete one-loop calculation of the relevant short-distance Wilson coefficients, giving a detailed technical summary of our results and comparing them with previous calculations performed in particular limits or approximations. We investigate the impact of various model parameters on the branching ratios and study the phenomenological constraints imposed by present data.
