The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of the national lockdown on femoral neck fractures occurred in the elderly in an Italian city with more than 650 thousand people. We analyzed data related to patients over 65 years-old with femoral neck fractures admitted between March 9th and April 24th, 2020 to five public Hospitals in Palermo and four private Hospitals during lockdown. A total of 152 patients with hip fracture were observed with a significant reduction compared with the same period in 2017-2019. Children with intellectual disability (ID) characteristically have motor problems. The purpose of this study was to compare differences in motor skills between Finnish children with and without ID, to compare the differences between children with ID with and without DS, and to systematically replicate Rintala & Loovis (2013). Twenty-five Finnish children (10 girls, 15 boys; M age = 8.7 yr.; SD 1.2) with ID were tested using the TGMD-3. Human diets contain sterol oxidation products that can induce cytotoxic effects, mainly caused by cholesterol oxides. However, phytosterol oxides effects have been less extensively investigated. This study evaluates the production of inflammatory biomarkers (IL-1β, IL-8, IL-10, TNFα) and the influence of gene expression transporters and enzymes related to cholesterol absorption and metabolism (NPC1L1, ABCG5/8, HMGCoA, ACAT) produced by 7-ketosterols (stigmasterol/cholesterol) in Caco-2 cells.
