Background It is a common opinion that Primary Sjögren Syndrome (pSS) damages the exocrine glands and determines the reduction of secreted saliva, some studies show that there are qualitative anomalies of the mucins produced in saliva, including MUC7, MUC5B, MUC1. Crumb Rubber (CR) can be incorporated into asphalt mixes via the dry process by directly adding CR into the mixer together with other asphalt mixture’s components, or with the wet process where the CR is used as a bitumen modifier. While the wet process allows an accurate monitoring of the interaction between CR and bitumen, the lack of control represents a main issue in the dry process. The reaction product of nitric oxide and superoxide, peroxynitrite, is a potent biological oxidant. The most important oxidative protein modifications described for peroxynitrite are cysteine-thiol oxidation and tyrosine nitration. We have previously demonstrated that intrinsic heme-thiolate (P450)-dependent enzymatic catalysis increases the nitration of tyrosine 430 in prostacyclin synthase and results in loss of activity which contributes to endothelial dysfunction. Silto acu komprešu ietekme uz acs asaru slāņa īpašībām

Pētījuma mērķis bija novērtēt silto komprešu terapijas efektivitāti uz asaru slāņa īpašībām pacientiem ar sausas acs subjektīvo simptomātiku. 18 pētījuma dalībniekieki, lietojot TheraPearl acu maskas divas reizes dienā no rīta un vakarā pa 5 vai 10 minūtēm, veica silto komprešu terapiju 14 dienu periodā. Diagnostikie mērījumi pirms terapijas, pēc terapijas un trīs nedēļas pēc terapijas beigām tika veikti asaru slāņa īpašību novērtēšanai. Dalībnieki pēc terapijas uzrādīja ievērojamu OSDI un DEQ-5 anketu rezultāta uzlabošanos un uzlabojums saglabājās arī trīs nedēļas pēc terapijas beigām. Pēc terapijas netika novērots statiski būtisks uzlabojums neinvazīvajā asaru slāņa plīšanas laikā (NIBUT).
