Setting individual goals for pupils with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities—engaging in the activity area-based curriculum making

The activity area-based curriculum model (AACM) is used in the Finnish basic education to support pupils—most of whom have profound intellectual and multiple disabilities (PIMD)— who could benefit more from skills that advance independent life coping. Existing studies have concentrated mainly on the Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal-setting process for pupils with milder disabilities than PIMD and have consistently demonstrated significant barriers in the process. Pētījuma mērķis - izpētīt, kādi ir vēlīnā brieduma indivīdu – sociālā aprūpes centra iemītnieku priekšstati par dzīvi (un nāvi) un šo indivīdu iekšējās saskaņas izjūtas rādītāji, kā arī, vai vecums, dzimums, ģimenes stāvoklis, iegūtā izglītība un sava veselības stāvokļa novērtējums ietekmē Iekšējās saskaņas izjūtas (ISI) aptaujas apakšskalas datus. Kvalitatīvajā pētījuma daļā piedalījās 3 respondenti, ar kuriem notika strukturētas intervijas, veicot naratīvu kontentanalīzi. AbstractThe General Decision-Making Styles (GDMS) scale measures five decision-making styles: rational, intuitive, dependent, avoidant and spontaneous. GDMS has been related to coping and some personality factors and sex-differences has been described. In spite of its usefulness, there is not a validated Spanish translation. Predicted gamma-ray image of SN 1006 due to inverse Compton emission

We propose a method to synthesize the inverse Compton (IC) gamma-ray image of a supernova remnant starting from the radio (or hard X-ray) map and using results of the spatially resolved X-ray spectral analysis. The method is successfully applied to SN 1006. We found that synthesized IC gamma-ray images of SN 1006 show morphology in nice agreement with that reported by the H.E.S.S. collaboration. The good correlation found between the observed very-high energy gamma-ray and X-ray/radio appearance can be considered as an evidence that the gamma-ray emission of SN 1006 observed by H.E.S.S. is leptonic in origin, though the hadronic origin may not be excluded.
Investigating the Structure of Vela X

Vela X is the prototypical example of a pulsar wind nebula whose morphology and detailed structure have been affected by the interaction with the reverse shock of its host supernova remnant. The resulting complex of filamentary structure and mixed-in ejecta embedded in a nebula that is offset from the pulsar provides the best example we have of this middle-age state that characterizes a significant fraction of composite SNRs, and perhaps all of the large-diameter PWNe seen as TeV sources. Tutkielman tehtävänä on selvittää, kuinka lasten kuolinilmoittaminen on muuttunut Helsingin Sanomissa vuosien 1910–2000 välillä. Tutkielman varsinaiset tutkimuskysymykset on jaettu kahteen osaan. Miten lapsivainajan kuolinilmoittaminen on muuttunut 1900-luvun aikana Suomessa ja kuinka yleistä se on ollut? Sekä toiseksi, miten lasten kuolinilmoittamisen yleistyminen on vaikuttanut ilmoitusten sisältöön? Tutkielmassa tarkastellaan kuolinilmoituksia kulttuurisena konventiona, joka on osa yhteisön kuolemankulttuuria. Kuolemankulttuurilla tarkoitetaan yhteisön tapoja käsitellä ja selittää kuolemaa.
