Understanding woodworking in Paleolithic times by means of use-wear analysis

Abstract Throughout prehistory, wood working was a frequent activity. The indices of this activity comes from rare found wooden remains, and the analysis of use-wear on them. In most recent periods, there are stone polished tools and metal tools, that increase the capability of wood transformation. This is not the case for older times, from which only knapped tools are available. The woodworking chaine operatoire includes activities of selection and acquisition of raw material, but also the transformation and the finish of objects and structures. Il saggio intende presentare una ricostruzione della rilevanza del tema della disobbedienza civile nelle dottrine c.d. neocostituzionaliste del diritto, con particolare riferimento alla dottrina di Ronald Dworkin. Il saggio, dopo avere distinto la pratica della disobbedienza civile da altre pratiche di resistenza, mostra la rilevanza della tematica della disobbedienza civile per il pensiero di Dworkin e segnala tre punti deboli della sua argomentazione. Dilute solution rheology of flexible macromolecules (bead–rod model)

The rheological behavior of dilute solutions of flexible macromolecules is studied by means of a freely jointed multiple bead–rod model. The solution of the equations describing the mechanics of the system is obtained by means of a numerical procedure, which applies to arbitrary flow conditions. The case of the transient stress in uniaxial elongational flow is developed in some detail. A comparison with bead–spring models shows both quantitative and qualitative differences which are briefly discussed.

Resumen: Este artículo analiza la igualdad de recursos planteada por Ronald Dworkin. Sostiene que la propuesta es exitosa a la hora de mostrar que, bien entendida, la responsabilidad individual justifica un estado del bienestar más generoso que los que tenemos pero que no consigue identificar adecuadamente instituciones que la satisfagan adecuadamente. Dworkin no resuelve bien las objeciones que cuestionan la capacidad de su propuesta para generar resultados que sean fieles a la intuición que la motiva. Despite the current growing number of studies that focus on macrobotanical remains from Middle Palaeolithiccontexts, plant use among hunter-gatherer societies remains unknown in many regions of Europe.
