Gossiping is ubiquitous in social life. In every imaginable corner of society, people from all walks of life are gossiping their living acquaintances. But what happens when the “third party,” i.e., the subject of gossip, is absent par excellence, not only temporarily and spatially, but definitively? Do people continue to gossip their dead acquaintances? What is the fate of gossip after its target dies? These are the questions this paper sets out to address. Dada la importante influencia de Marx y Engels en el análisis de la estructura social, no sorprende el notable impacto de su obra en el estudio del papel de la mujer en la familia. Sin embargo, su herencia en este ámbito sociológico ha dado lugar a interpretaciones muy polarizadas. Este artículo quiere aportar algo de luz evidenciando las contradicciones del marxismo al estudiar el papel de la mujer en la familia. Koronapandemian vaikutukset jatko-opintoihin: Humanistis-yhteiskuntatieteellisen tiedekunnan keväällä 2020 ja 2021 toteuttaman kyselyn tulokset

Covid-19-pandemian vaikutuksia elämän eri osa-alueille on jo tutkittu ympäri maailman. Jyväskylän yliopiston humanistis-yhteiskuntatieteellisessä tiedekunnassa haluttiin saada parempi käsitys pandemian ja siitä aiheutuneiden poikkeusolojen vaikutuksista jatko-opintoihin ja niiden suorittamiseen. Niinpä tiedekunnassa päätettiin toteuttaa keväällä 2020 jatko-opiskelijoille suunnattu kysely, jossa selvitettiin esimerkiksi poikkeusolojen vaikutuksia opintojen edistämiseen ja vastaajien poikkeusolojen aikana kohtaamia haasteita jatko-opintojen eri osa-alueilla.
