Génération expérimentale de solitons de cut-off dans une ligne électrique non linéaire

National audience; Nous étudions le phénomène de supratransmission dans un milieu non linéaire discret, soumis, à une excitation périodique dont la fréquence appartient à la bande interdite. Nous montrons l’existence d’un seuil de tension au dessus duquel l’instabilité modulationnelle (IM) va se développer dans la ligne, valeur de seuil dépendant de la fréquence d’excitation. Si elle n’empêche pas l’apparition de l’IM par supratransmission, la dissipation présente dans la ligne est un obstacle à la génération des solitons de cut-off, obstacle que nous sommes parvenus à contourner par un choix approprié de l’amplitude de l’excitation.

Exploring the Solar Wind from Its Source on the Corona into the Inner Heliosphere during the First Solar Orbiter-Parker Solar Probe Quadrature

This Letter addresses the first Solar Orbiter (SO) -- Parker Solar Probe (PSP) quadrature, occurring on January 18, 2021, to investigate the evolution of solar wind from the extended corona to the inner heliosphere. Assuming ballistic propagation, the same plasma volume observed remotely in corona at altitudes between 3.5 and 6.3 solar radii above the solar limb with the Metis coronagraph on SO can be tracked to PSP, orbiting at 0.1 au, thus allowing the local properties of the solar wind to be linked to the coronal source region from where it originated. Polarization angle dependence of the breathing modes in confined one-dimensional dipolar bosons

Probing the radial collective oscillation of a trapped quantum system is an accurate experimental tool to investigate interactions and dimensionality effects. We consider a fully polarized quasi-one dimensional dipolar quantum gas of bosonic dysprosium atoms in a parabolic trap at zero temperature. We model the dipolar gas with an effective quasi-one dimensional Hamiltonian in the single-mode approximation, and derive the equation of state using a variational approximation based on the Lieb-Liniger gas Bethe Ansatz wavefunction or perturbation theory. Multi sensorial cues (visual, auditory, haptic, inertial, vestibular, neuromuscular) [Ang2] play important roles to represent a proper sensation (objectively) and so a perception (subjectively as cognition) in driving simulators. Driving simulator aims at giving the sensation of driving as in a real case. For a similar situation, the driver has to react in the same way as in reality in terms of ‘self motion’. Intermittency in the homopolar disk-dynamo

We study a modified Bullard dynamo and show that this system is equivalent to a nonlinear oscillator subject to a multiplicative noise. The stability analysis of this oscillator is performed. Two bifurcations are identified, first towards an \lq\lq intermittent\rq\rq state where the absorbing (non-dynamo) state is no more stable but the most probable value of the amplitude of the oscillator is still zero and secondly towards a \lq\lq turbulent\rq\rq (dynamo) state where it is possible to define unambiguously a (non-zero) most probable value around which the amplitude of the oscillator fluctuates. On the analytical expression of the multicompacton and some exact compact solutions of a nonlinear diffusive Burgers’type equation

International audience; We consider the nonlinear diffusive Burgers' equation as a model equation for signals propagation on the nonlinear electrical transmission line with intersite nonlinearities.
