Reliability of transcranial magnetic stimulation and H-reflex measurement during balance perturbation tasks

Following ankle movement, posterior balance perturbation evokes short- (SLR ∼30–50 ms), medium- (MLR ∼50–60 ms), and long-latency responses (LLR ∼70–90 ms) in soleus muscle before voluntary muscle contraction. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and Hoffmann-reflex (H-reflex) measurements can provide insight into the contributions of corticospinal and spinal mechanisms to each response. Motor evoked potential (MEP) and H-reflex responses have shown good reliability in some dynamic muscle contraction tasks. Pareto frontier in economic-statistical design of a dynamic c chart

The present paper proposes an economic-statistical multi-objective design procedure for a dynamic c control chart. In detail, a mixed integer non-linear constrained mathematical model is formulated to solve the treated problem, whereas the Pareto frontier is described by the ε-constraint method. To show the employment of the proposed procedure a numerical case is solved and the related considerations are given.

Two formulations of a special multicriterion optimal design problem devoted to elastic perfectly plastic steel frame structures subjected to different combinations of static and dynamic loads are presented. Excessive or incorrect loading of lumbar spinal structures is commonly assumed as one of the factors to accelerate degenerative processes, which may lead to lower back pain. Accordingly, the mechanics of the spine under medical conditions, such as scoliosis or spondylolisthesis, is well-investigated.
