Bakalaura darbs ir izstrādāts ar mērķi izpētīt maksājumu kartes pasaulē un Latvijā, kā arī izanalizēt šī brīža maksājumu karšu tirgus stāvokli un sagaidāmās attīstības iespējas Latvijā. Autors secina, ka Latvijas maksājumu sistēma ir augsti attīstīta un stabila, kas nozīme, ka Latvija ir gatava jaunu maksājumu karšu produktu ieviešanai tirgū, turpretī Latvijas iedzīvotāji ir skeptiski noskaņoti par sagaidāmajām pārmaiņām. The resistivity and thermopower of amorphous Mg-Zn alloys

The resistivity and thermopower of amorphous Mg-Zn alloys have been computed as a function of temperature and composition. The diffraction model incorporating the dynamical partial structure factors is applied. The effect of the electron mean free path is investigated. The authors find that the resistivity is well described by the model, and that the inclusion of the mean free path does not change the results considerably. In the case of thermopower the diffraction model turns out to be inadequate: it gives a composition dependence which is against the experimental evidence. The paper is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Grinberg theorem. The main works of Emanuel Grinberg (1911-1982) in applied mathematics are described, following the stages of his life path, namely: the design of radio receivers and the calculation of radio filters (1949-1959), hull of tanker calculations (1962-1964), the study of graph theory and the proof of the Grinberg theorem (1968), designing of integrated circuits (1968-1980). Abstract 3α-Hydroxy-5α-pregnan-20-one (HPO) is a progesterone metabolite which exhibits narcotic properties at high concentrations by interactions with the receptor for gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). The present investigation characterized low-dose effects of HPO on GABA A receptor binding, by determining the allosteric properties of HPO on the in vitro binding of 3 H-muscimol to membrane fractions from the cerebella of ovariectomized rats. A newly developed method for tissue preparation was used to wash out endogenous ligands interfering with the assay. HPO reduced the affinity of 3 H-muscimol to GABA A receptor sites by 52% and enhanced the number of accessible binding sites from 5.5±0.5…

This paper presents a new analytical framework for assessing spatial disparities among countries. It takes for granted that the analysis of a country’s performance cannot be limited solely to either economic or social factors. The aim of the paper is to combine relevant economic and non-economic (mainly social) aspects of a country’s performance in an integrated logical framework. Abstract The aim of the carried out research was to assess atmospheric aerosol pollution levels in the area of three apiaries located in the Opole Province and to analyse heavy metals pollution in bee honey and western honey bees. Pleurozium schreberi moss was used in analysing atmospheric aerosol pollution with the active biomonitoring method, whereas heavy metals levels were determined with flame atomic absorption spectrometry method (F-AAS). Abstract In the years 2014–2016 biomonitoring studies were conducted in the forest areas of south and north-eastern Poland: the Karkonosze Mountains, the Beskidy Mountains, the Borecka Forest, the Knyszynska Forest and the Bialowieska Forest. This study used epigeic moss Pleurozium schreberi and epiphytic lichens Hypogymnia physodes. Samples were collected in spring, summer and autumn. Approximately 500 samples of moss and lichens were collected for the study. In the samples, Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, Hg and Pb concentrations were determined.
