Background: The link between early traumatic experiences of abuse/neglect and criminal behaviour has been widely demonstrated. Less is known, however, about the relationship between these experiences and the development of psychopathic personality. Cats were conditioned to turn their heads using a tone conditioned stimulus (CS) and medial forebrain bundle stimulation (MFB) unconditioned stimulus (US). The CS+ was delivered to one ear at a time, in random order, followed by the US. A tone of a different frequency was used as a CS-. The cats learned to respond differentially to the CSs showing head movements of greater acceleration to the CS+ than CS- over sessions. Blood Flow and Oxygenation Status of Head and Neck Carcinomas

Solid tumors contain a significant fraction of microregions which are chronically or transiently hypoxic. Experimental evidence is growing, showing that hypoxia may have a profound impact on malignant progression and on responsiveness to therapy [1–4].The clinical relevance of tumor oxygenation in human solid malignancies is under investigation (for a recent review see [5]). In this presentation, relevant clinical findings available to date on blood and oxygen supply of human head and neck carcinomas will be reviewed and emphasis will be given to the relevance of these factors in clinical oncology.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) provides a large spectrum of medicinal plants containing many biocompounds that possess anticancer activities. Virtual reality in the treatment of claustrophobic fear: A controlled, multiple-baseline design

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) exposure in the treatment of claustrophobic fear. We evaluated the intervention following a controlled, multiple-baseline design across 4 participants with claustrophobic fear who sought psychological help in our anxiety disorders clinic. The treatment consisted of 8 individual VR graded exposure sessions. Data were obtained at pretreatment, posttreatment, and 3-month follow-up on several clinical measures: Behavioral Avoidance Test, Self-Efficacy Toward Closed Spaces, Problem-Related Impairment Questionnaire, Beck Depression Inventory (Beck, 1978), and Anxiety Sensitivity Index (Peterson & Reiss, 1992). Express RGB mapping of three to five skin chromophores

Skin melanin, oxy- and deoxy-hemoglobin were snapshot-mapped under simultaneous 448-532-659 nm laser illumination by a smartphone RGB camera. Experimental prototypes for double-snapshot RGB mapping of four (melanin, bilirubin, oxy- and deoxy-hemoglobin) and five (melanin, bilirubin, lipids, oxy- and deoxy-hemoglobin) skin chromophores with reduced laser speckle artefacts have been developed and tested. A set of 405-448-532-659 nm lasers were used for four chromophores mapping, and a set of 405-448-532-659-842 nm lasers for five chromophores mapping. Clinical tests confirmed functionality of the developed devices.
