Counterbalancing salt reduction with aromas and consequences on sensory acceptability: A study with real cheese

Introduction and objective: Unbalanced diet with an overconsumption of salt contributes to the development of cardiovascular disease. Several strategies are currently investigated to design low-salt food while maintaining taste and consumer liking. The strategy relying on cross-modal sensory compensation is being tested within the framework of the EU-TeRiFiQ research project. 5-Carbonyl-1,3-oxazine-2,4-diones from N-Cyanosulfoximines and Meldrum’s Acid Derivatives

At elevated temperatures, N-cyanosulfoximines react with Meldrum’s acid derivatives to give sulfoximines with N-bound 5-carbonyl-1,3-oxazine-2,4-dione groups. A representative product was characterized by single-crystal X-ray structure analysis. The product formation involves an unexpected molecular reorientation requiring several sequential bond-forming and -cleaving processes. peerReviewed

Darbinieku apzinātības prakses saistība ar darba un uztvertā stresa līmeni

Šī pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot pašnovērtētā uztvertā stresa un darba stresa saistību ar apzinātības prakšu izmantošanu darbinieku vidū. Pētījumā kopā piedalījās 137 dalībnieki (111 sievietes, un 26 vīrieši) vecumā no 21 līdz 72 gadiem (M=37,91; SD=13,64). Lai novērtētu darba stresu, tika izmantota Darba stresoru skala (JSS -Job stressor scales, Spector & Jex, 1997), kas tika adaptēta latviešu valodā Evijas Gailes bakalaura darba “Apmierinātība ar darbu saistībā ar stresu darba vietā” ietvaros, 2013. gadā. Uzmanība pievērsta darījumu apstrīdēšanas priekšnosacījumiem maksātnespējas procesā, tai skaitā termiņiem. Šobrīd spēkā esošais Maksātnespējas likuma regulējumā ietvertais darījumu apstrīdēšanas regulējums nav viennozīmīgs un tas rada iespējas to interpretēt dažādi, kas savukārt noved pie atšķirīgas tiesu prakses. New degrees of freedom for differential forms on cubical meshes

We consider new degrees of freedom for higher order differential forms on cubical meshes. The approach is inspired by the idea of Rapetti and Bossavit to define higher order Whitney forms and their degrees of freedom using small simplices. We show that higher order differential forms on cubical meshes can be defined analogously using small cubes and prove that these small cubes yield unisolvent degrees of freedom. Significantly, this approach is compatible with discrete exterior calculus and expands the framework to cover higher order methods on cubical meshes, complementing the earlier strategy based on simplices.
