Izmaiņas elektroencefalogrammā un neirovizualizācijas metodēs pie ģeneralizētas krampju lēkmes

2017

A estação do neolítico antigo do Carrascal (Oeiras, Lisboa, Portugal)

2011

Simulations with Standardized Patients for Nursing Students in Preparation for Clinical Placements in Mental Health Care

2021

Abstract Background Nursing students often express uncertainty about clinical placement in a mental health care setting. Simulation with standardized patients may provide an opportunity for students to explore clinical situations in mental health nursing before their clinical placement, thereby increasing these students’ overall satisfaction and confidence levels with regard to mental health nursing. Method A qualitative descriptive design was selected. Twenty-four undergraduate nursing students participated in four focus-group interviews after mental health simulations with standardized patients were conducted. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. Results Three main themes were …

Cross-sectional and longitudinal associations of active travel, organised sport and physical education with accelerometer-assessed moderate-to-vigoro…

2022

Abstract Background Physical activity (PA) declines during childhood. Important sources of PA are active travel, organised sport and physical education (PE), but it is unclear how these domain-specific PA sources contribute to (changes in) daily moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA) in young people. This study aimed to examine (1) the cross-sectional association between domain-specific physical activity (i.e., active travel, organised sport and PE) and daily minutes in accelerometer-assessed MVPA; and (2) the longitudinal association between domain-specific physical activity at baseline and change in daily minutes in MVPA. Methods Participants (baseline age 11.3 ± .1.2 years) were drawn from three…

Touch, threats, and transactions: Pandemic influences on consumer responses and the mediating role of touch likelihood when shopping for fruits and v…

2022

The COVID-19 pandemic has influenced consumer behavior in numerous ways. Most of the public health measures have centered around minimizing social contact and physical touch. In the present study, we investigate the impact of such touch restrictions, introduced during the pandemic, on consumers’ shopping responses and payment preferences in the context of a perishable food category amenable to tactile evaluation (fresh fruits and vegetables). The study used a single-factor between-subjects design (during vs. before the COVID-19 pandemic), with the data collected in a scenario-based online experiment from a sample of 729 participants. The results revealed significantly less favorable shoppin…

The effects of an abrupt increase in taxes on candy and soda in Norway: an observational study of retail sales

2020

Abstract Background Fiscal policies are used to promote a healthier diet; however, there is still a call for real-world evaluations of taxes on unhealthy foods and beverages. We aimed to evaluate the effect of an abrupt increase, of respectively 80 and 40%, in the excising Norwegian taxes on candy and beverages on volume sales of candy and soda. We expected sales to fall. Methods We analyzed electronic point of sale data covering approximately 98% of volume sales of grocery stores in Norway. In two pre-registered models with weekly (log-)sales of taxed candy and soda from 3884 individual stores, we modeled the difference between the jump (discontinuity) in the trend around the time of the i…

Effects of Creatine Supplementation on Brain Function and Health

2022

While the vast majority of research involving creatine supplementation has focused on skeletal muscle, there is a small body of accumulating research which has focused on creatine and the brain. Preliminary studies indicate that creatine supplementation (and guanidinoacetic acid; GAA) has the ability to increase brain creatine content in humans. Further, creatine has shown some promise for attenuating symptoms of concussion, mild traumatic brain injury and depression but its effect on neurodegenerative diseases appears lacking. The purpose of this narrative review is to summarize the current body of research pertaining to creatine supplementation on total creatine and phophorylcreatine cont…

Le site néolithique final de la Bastide Blanche (Peyrolles-en-Provence, Bouches-du-Rhône) : Premiers résultats 2003-2004

2006

The Bastide Blanche (Peyrolles-en-Provence, Bouches-du-Rhône) is a small settlement perched in edge of the Durance where the principal occupation is ascribable to the extreme end of the Neolithic era. Recognized in the past, it was the subject of multiple excavations but of any study nor of any specific publication. A survey campaign and a first excavation campaign programmed in 2003 and 2004 make it possible today to specify the homogeneity of the assemblies often mentioned in the scientific literature. Beyond the first description of the structures and archaeological furniture put at the day, this short note makes it possible to announce the existence of a sequence for the Rhone-Ouvèze gr…
