Magnetoelectric effects in superconductor/ferromagnet bilayers

We demonstrate that the hybrid structures consisting of a superconducting layer with an adjacent spin-textured ferromagnet demonstrate the variety of equilibrium magnetoelectric effects originating from coupling between the conduction electron spin and superconducting current. By deriving and solving the generalized Usadel equation which takes into account the spin-filtering effect we find that a supercurrent generates spin polarization in the superconducting film which is non-coplanar with the local ferromagnetic moment. Spoken-Word Segmentation and Dyslexia

We used magnetoencephalography to elucidate the cortical activation associated with the segmentation of spoken words in nonreading-impaired and dyslexic adults. The subjects listened to binaurally presented sentences where the sentence-ending words were either semantically appropriate or inappropriate to the preceding sentence context. Half of the inappropriate final words shared two or three initial phonemes with the highly expected semantically appropriate words. Two temporally and functionally distinct response patterns were detected in the superior temporal lobe. Tika izstrādāta jauna programma fluorescences un absorbcijas signālu modelēšanai, iekļaujot kodā signālu atkarību no ārējā magnētiskā lauka un Doplera efekta. Signāli tika modelēti, izmantojot optiskos Bloha vienādojumus, lai iegūtu blīvuma matricas, kas raksturo atomu kvantu stāvokļus. Lai modelētu signālus Cs D_1 līnijai, kodā tika iekļauta pumpējošā un zondējošā stara raksturojošie parametri. Šāda staru konfigurācija ir noderīga magnetometra izstrādes procesā. Dzięki aktywnej współpracy na linii matematyka-fizyka możemy lepiej stymulować rozwój młodzieży, aktywizować ją i w efekcie kształtować twórczego i kreatywnego absolwenta. Post-tonal music often poses perceptual and cognitive challenges for listeners, potentially related to the use of relatively uncommon and unfamiliar musical material and compositional processes. As a basic compositional device, repetition affects memory for music and is structured by composers in very different ways across tonal and post-tonal musical repertoires.
