Aim of this work is to study the preparation of pH sensitive membranes for biomedical applications via thermal induced graft polymerization of acrylic acid (AA) on poly(vinilydenefluoride) (PVDF) assisted by supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2). Using scCO2 as a solvent and swelling agent, the monomer and initiator (benzoyl peroxide) could diffuse faster and distribute more uniformly into the polymer matrix. A better control of the final molecular architecture should be achieved because bimolecular grafting reactions are accelerated with respect to chain degradation processes. Tholu Bommalu are typical leather puppets of the traditional Indian shadow theatre. Two of these objects are part of a collection in the International Puppets Museum “Antonio Pasqualino” (Palermo, Sicily, Italy), which can count on one hundred-seventy-three of artifacts. These Indian puppets were investigated to obtain information related to the use of dyes for their manufacturing through a multi-technical approach exploiting the combination of highly sensitive spectroscopic techniques. Shape Sensitivity Analysis and Gradient-Based Optimization of Large Structures Using MLFMA

A fast method for computing the action of shape-differentiated electric field integral equation (EFIE) system matrix to a vector is derived exploiting the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA). The proposed method is used in conjunction with the adjoint-variable method (AVM) to compute the shape gradient of arbitrary objective functions depending on shape of a metallic scatterer. The method is demonstrated numerically by optimizing the shape of a parabolic reflector illuminated with a half-wave dipole.

Eurooppa on 2010-luvulla juuttunut matalaan talouskasvuun. Myös inflaatio on alhaisella tasolla ja mediassa pelätään ajautumista deflaatioon. Tässä tutkielmassa pyrin selvittämään deflaation ja talouskasvun välistä yhteyttä. Teoriaosuudessa tarkastelen deflaation vaikutuksia lyhyellä aikavälillä hyödyntäen IS-LM- ja AD-AS -malleja. Tämän jälkeen pyrin löytämään teoreettisen linkin deflaation ja pitkän aikavälin talouskasvun välille. It has been a long tradition in Finland to use locally published textbooks in primary foreign language education. The books have been designed for linguistically homogenous groups of students, which explains why Finnish, as the learners’ L1, is the instructive metalanguage chosen for the EFL activity books. However, the growing number of immigrant children in the Finnish educational system raises the question to what extent these activity books can serve the needs of linguistically more diverse groups of learners. Tästä syystä tämä tutkielma selvittää suomalaisten kielenoppijoiden käsityksiä siitä, kuinka opettajien käytös ja opetusmenetelmät vaikuttavat heidän valmiuteensa käyttää englantia opetustilanteessa.
