The effect of montmorillonite clay in alginate gel beads for polychlorinated biphenyl adsorption: Isothermal and kinetic studies

Beads of alginate montmorillonite have been used as sorbent for polychlorinated biphenyls from aqueous solutions.The structure and the differences between the different beads were established by IR spectroscopy (FT-IR). The adsorption at 25 °C has been studied in a batch system, following its kinetics and assessing adsorbent dose, initial PCB concentrations, and pH effects. The results show that increasing the initial concentration of the PCBs and the adsorption time favored the adsorption. Foix, les quals més aviat han de ser enteses en el context de la ironia romàntica tal com va ser concebuda per Friedrich Schlegel i més tard documentada en la investigació d’Ingrid Strohschneider-Kohrs. Es descriu el terme «reflexió» com l’autonegació de l’absolut per a després analitzar alguns poemes en prosa del poeta, en què tal classe d’ironia pot ser identificada. This article offers a close reading of Katharine Bradley and Edith Cooper’s lyric III in Long Ago, a Sapphic volume of verse published in 1889 under the collaborative nom de plume of Michael Field. This collection articulates a dramatic inquiry into the tragedy of unrequited love in a long cycle of lyrics whose third piece most effectively encapsulates the kernel of what the Fields reconstruct as Sappho’s ambivalent eroticism. The cytotoxic properties of Natural Coumarins Isolated from roots of Ferulago campestris (Apiaceae) and of synthetic ester derivatives aegelinol

Grandivittin (1), agasyllin (2), aegelinol benzoate (3) and felamidin (20), four natural coumarins isolated from Ferulago campestris, and several synthetic ester derivatives of aegelinol (4) were tested against four tumor cell lines. Some of them were shown to be marginally cytotoxic against the A549 lung cancer cell line.

Tamás Kisantal lähestyy väitöksessään kaunokirjallisia tekstejä historiallis-filosofisesta näkökulmasta ja soveltaa narratiivisen historianfilosofian metodeja esimerkiksi holokaustiin liittyvän kirjallisuuden tarkastelemiseen.
