Effects of vinblastine, leucine, and histidine, and 3-methyladenine on autophagy in Ehrlich ascites cells.

The microtubule inhibitor vinblastine causes accumulation of autophagic vacuoles in many cell types. In hepatocytes, many of the accumulated vacuoles are nascent, which has been interpreted to suggest that vinblastine acts by inhibiting the fusion of hydrolase-containing lysosomes with early autophagic vacuoles. However, our previous results suggested that, in Ehrlich ascites cells, vinblastine causes accumulation mainly of older autophagic vacuoles (AVs). The effects of chemical two-way mixing on the Extratropical Transition Layer (ExTL) near the subtropical jet are investigated by stratospheric tracer-tracer correlations. To this end, in situ measurements were performed west of Africa (25-32 ◦ N) during the Transport and Composition of the Upper Troposphere Lower Stratosphere (UTLS)/Earth System Model Validation (TACTS/ESMVal) mission in August/September 2012. Non-invasive assessment of coronary artery stent patency with multislice CT: preliminary experience.

To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of multislice computed tomography coronary angiography (MSCT-CA) in the detection of in-stent restenosis.Forty-two patients (33 male, 9 female, mean age 58+/-8 years) previously subjected to percutaneous implantation of coronary stent with suspected in-stent restenosis, underwent a 16-row MSCT (Sensation 16, Siemens) examination. Sarcoehrenbergilides D–F: cytotoxic cembrene diterpenoids from the soft coral Sarcophyton ehrenbergi

A solvent extract of the soft coral Sarcophyton ehrenbergi afforded cembrene diterpenoids, sarcoehrenbergilid D–F (1–3). Chemical structures were established by modern spectroscopic techniques with absolute stereochemistries determined by circular dichroism (CD) and time-dependent density functional theory electronic CD calculations (TDDFT-ECD). Cytotoxicity activities for 1–3 were evaluated against three human cancer cell lines: lung (A549), colon (Caco-2) and liver (HepG2).

So far we developed a general integer programming approach for solving the LOP. It was based on the canonical IP formulation with equations and 3-dicycle inequalities which was then strengthened by generating mod-k-inequalities as cutting planes. In this chapter we will add further ingredients by looking for problem- specific inequalities. To this end we will study the convex hull of feasible solutions of the LOP: the so-called linear ordering polytope.

Circuit Lower Bounds via Ehrenfeucht-Fraisse Games

In this paper we prove that the class of functions expressible by first order formulas with only two variables coincides with the class of functions computable by AC/sup 0/ circuits with a linear number of gates. We then investigate the feasibility of using Ehrenfeucht-Fraisse games to prove lower bounds for that class of circuits, as well as for general AC/sup 0/ circuits.

Abstract Between 1 September and 4 October 2014, a combined airborne and ground-based measurement campaign was conducted to study tropical deep convective clouds over the Brazilian Amazon rain forest.
