Visā pasaulē, tajā skaitā arī Latvijā, viena no biežākajām ķirurģiskajām saslimšanām, kam nepieciešama operatīva ārstēšana, ir žultsakmeņu slimība (ŽAS) jeb holelitāze. Tās izplatība pieaug līdz ar iedzīvotāju vecumu un mūsdienu dzīvesveida paradumiem, tādiem kā, nesabalansēts, neregulārs uzturs un mazkustīgs dzīvesveids. Šis bakalaura darbs tika izveidots ar mērķi - noskaidrot iedzīvotāju zināšanas par žultsakmeņu slimības attīstību veicinošajiem faktoriem un profilaksi. Pirms pētījuma veikšanas, lai pārliecinātos par anketas jautājumu saprotamību, tika veikts pilotpētījums, aptaujājot desmit respondentus. New polysaccharide-polyaminoacid hydrogels: a suitable strategy for colon-specific drug delivery

The aim of this study was to prepare and characterize novel hydrogels with polysaccharide–polyaminoacid structure, able to undergo an enzymatic hydrolysis in the colon and potentially useful for treating inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Starting materials were methacrylated dextran (DEX-MA) and methacrylated α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl)-DL-aspartamide (PHM). These polymers were photocrosslinked by exposure of their aqueous solutions at 313 nm without photoinitiators. Different samples, shaped as microparticles, were obtained as a function of polymer concentration and irradiation time. Mastitis is the most common and costly pathology affecting dairy animals. The identification of genetic markers that allow the inclusion of mastitis resistance in selection programs would help to reduce the costs due to the disease and the use of antibiotics.
