Knowledge production and its possibilities and pitfalls in North-South research partnerships have gained increasing attention. The previous literature has identified certain pervasive challenges, and suggested a variety of ways to change partnerships, ranging from improvement of current collaboration activities to fundamental transformation of the hegemonic Eurocentric criteria for knowledge. Tämän tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää, millaisia ajatuksia ja kokemuksia kieltenopettajilla on koskien yläasteikäisten oppilaiden opiskelumotivaatiota sekä heidän motivoimistaan. Lisäksi selvitettiin, mitkä tekijät erityisesti vaikuttavat motivaatioon ja millaisia haasteita motivointiin liittyy kieltenopiskelun yhteydessä. Tuloksia analysoitiin kvalitatiivisesti. Materiaali koostui kahdeksan Keski-Suomessa työskentelevän ruotsin- ja englanninopettajan haastatteluista. Amidst societal, demographic and educational changes, teachers are expected to engage in professional development and learning (PDL) throughout their careers. This study explores school teachers’ mental models about their work in the framework of Senge’s learning organisation, aiming to support their PDL during curriculum reform and organisational changes. The study’s data comprise 41 semi-structured interviews with each teacher in one school community. These interviews were analysed using qualitative, data-driven yet theory-informed content analysis. Abstract: This Master's thesis proposes a new method for calculating the optimum tilt and orientation angle of a fitted solar collector. In addition to using geographical data, this method takes into account the radiation data and weather statistics of prospective locations. This makes the calculations valid not only for certain latitudes, but also for certain radiation and weather conditions. Calculations were done by estimating the energy production of a given solar array using a sequence of different tilt angles and orientation angles. In his writings, the Old-Polish preacher, Father Fabian Birkowski, many a time made references to reality of war, with which he was familiar due to his services as the camp chaplain. Thus, military motifs can be found in his sermons that were delivered on different occasions.
