Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvittää miten perheen demograafiset taustatekijät, kuten perheen perhemuoto, sisarusten olemassa olo, vanhempien koulutustausta ja työtilanne ovat yhteydessä lapsen työskentelytapoihin ja niiden kehitykseen ensimmäisen kouluvuoden aikana. Lisäksi oltiin kiinnostuneita siitä, eroavatko tulokset sukupuolen mukaan. Tutkimus toteutettiin osana Vanhemmat, opettajat ja lasten oppiminen-tutkimusta (VALO; Aunola & Nurmi, 2006-2009). Tutkittavina olivat 152 (79 tyttöä ja 73 poikaa) ensimmäisen luokan oppilasta sekä heidän vanhempansa ja opettajansa kolmen keskisuuren kaupungin alueelta Suomessa. Työuupuminen käsitteenä ymmärretään useiden tutkimusten mukaan työn liiallisena kuormituksena työpaikalla. Tässä tutkielmassa tutkin miesten kokemaa työuupumusta ja sen näyttäytymistä työssä ja vapaa-aikana. Aineistona käytän Yhteiskuntatieteellisen tiedearkiston valmista haastatteluaineistoa. Kvalitatiivisessa tutkimuksessa pyrin teemoittelun avulla täsmentää tutkimustuloksia. Tutkimuksen teoreettisena viitekehyksenä ovat työuupumuksen ja miestutkimuksen teoriat. Kaikki työuupumus, jota työpaikoilla koetaan, ei välttämättä ole työn kuormituksesta johtuvaa työuupumusta. Intra-EU Mobility: The Employment and Welfare Experience of Temporary EU Workers in the United Kingdom

This article explores the mobility pathways of temporary EU workers and the implications that transnational temporary mobility has on their labor market outcomes and access to social rights and benefits. The experiences of temporary EU migrants working in the UK show that despite the narrative of the borderlessness of the common European labor market, access to host countries’ labor market and welfare is shaped by their employment status and welfare eligibility criteria that produce worker precariousness. Temporary EU workers’ experiences are characterized by employment insecurity and unequal access to labor and social rights, effects which might increase since the UK has left the EU.
The impact of periodic interviews on unemployment duration : Evidence from the 2017 Finnish reform

In 2017, a Finnish policy reform intensified the Public Employment Services' practice of periodically interviewing unemployed jobseekers. This study used high-quality administrative data to analyse the effect of interviews on unemployment duration. We used a difference-in-differences approach that exploited regional variations in treatment intensity. Our results show that a 10 percentage point increase in interview probability increased the monthly hazard rate of employment by 3.1 per cent, with the effect being strongest among jobseekers aged 25–34 and jobseekers with a low education level. Bakalaura darba ietvaros tika pētīts, kā tērzēšanas sistēmu aģentu vizuālais tēls spēj ietekmēt cilvēka uzskatus par tiem. Darba ietvaros tika veikts eksperiments divās daļās – pirmajā daļā starp diviem tēliem bija nepieciešams izvēlēties sev tīkamākais, otrajā daļā – izvēlēties virtuālā tēla izrādīto emociju, kā piemēram, prieku, bēdas u.c., pēc sejas izteiksmes. Darba ietvaros tika secināts, ka vispozitīvāk tika vērtēts eiropeiskas rases jaunas sievietes tēls, kas liek secināt, ka šāda tipa virtuālie aģenti nestu vislielāko lietotāja apmierinātības līmeni. Perheterapian ydinajatus kiteytyy sen dialogisuuteen, mutta lapsilla ei ole tasavertaista asemaa perheterapian vuorovaikutuksessa. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan, miten terapeuttisen systeemin aikuiset asemoivat uhmakkuus- tai käytöshäiriödiagnoosin saaneita lapsia perheterapiassa. Ilmiötä lähestytään vuorovaikutuksen ongelmatilanteiden ja lapsen näkökulman kautta. Aineisto koostuu yhdestä lastenpsykiatrian poliklinikalla ja yhdestä kotona toteutetun perheterapiaistunnon ääni- ja videotallenteista. Purpose To study the prevalence and risk factors of myopia with data from a questionnaire study conducted in 1983 among Finnish school children. Methods School children (n = 4 961) from the 1st, 5th and 8th grades of school (7-, 11- and 15-year-olds) in Central Finland were screened for vision followed by a questionnaire, which was returned by 4 352 (87.7%) participants. Myopia was categorized based on the questionnaire. Background: The distal ulnar-basilic arteriovenous fistula (UBAVF) is a rarely used alternative type of vascular access for haemodialysis. The location of the vein on the back aspect of the forearm forces an extremely uncomfortable external rotation of the upper limb during surgery when the patient is in a supine position. SCOPO DEL LAVORO: Valutare retrospettivamente le caratteristiche di semeiotica neuroradiologica delle lesioni indotte in pazienti sottoposti a talamotomia unilaterale del nucleo Vim mediante l’utilizzo di un sistema trans-cranico ad ultrasuoni focalizzati guidati da RM (tcMRgFUS). MATERIALI E METODI: Cinquanta pazienti sono stati sottoposti a talamotomia mediante tcMRgFUS per tremore essenziale refrattario a terapia medica (n = 39) o per tremore in malattia di Parkinson (n = 11).
