This study explored if the orientations towards instructing/coaching in physical activities (PA) and teaching physical education (PE) affect the perceived strengths in teaching PE at the primary level (PSTPEs). The Sentiments, Attitudes, and Concerns About Inclusive Education Revised scale was developed to close the existing gap in measuring perceptions of inclusive education in the educative context. It has been widely used in other cultures but not in Spain. Our objective has been to analyze the psychometric properties in the Spanish sample by studying their relationship with empathy and social dominance variables, finally taking into account sociodemographic variables to observe if there are differences. Teacher emotional support in relation to social competence in preschool classrooms

The present study aimed to investigate the associations between teachers’ observed emotional support and social competence among Finnish pre-schoolers (6-year-olds). The quality of emotional support was observed using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System Pre-K in 47 preschool classrooms twice across the preschool year. Teachers rated children’s social competence in autumn and again in spring, using the Multisource Assessment of Social Competence Scale (MASCS), which produced sum scores for cooperating skills, empathy, impulsivity, and disruptiveness. The social side of music listening : Empathy and contagion in music-induced emotions

Process theories have identified empathy and contagion as mechanisms by which music may induce emotions and recent studies in psychology and cognitive neuroscience have started to examine these hypotheses. After showing how music listening may tap into social cognition, and distinguishing between empathy and emotional contagion at the psychological and neural levels, this chapter reviews the theoretical and empirical support for the involvement of these two processes in music-induced emotions.
